What was once a hakka place on this tight strip mall is now a Thai place. Good lunch specials. The thai house fried rice was good as was the Tom yum noodle soup. Their fried fish rated at 4 chilis was barely spicy though. It was food, just not thai-level spicy. Service was friendly and accomodating. My daughter accidentally spilled water on the table and chair but the staff calmly cleaned it up without panicking and offered us a different table that we declined. Pricing was decent too.
Grabbed the lunch menu there and the food was great. Lunch Specials ranged from $8.99 to $9.99 depending on the dish. The hot & soup soup was standard and the spring rolls were smaller than expected; however, the portion sizes were quite large for a lunch special! Since I ordered the Thai Spicy Basil Noodles, I had to ask for peanuts on the side since they didn't included it probably due to food allergies. This alone filled me up and I'm surprised I managed to finish it. The second thing we ordered was the Sweet & Sour Fish w/ Rice which was upgraded to Fried Rice. Only half of it was finished and it was later taken to-go since there was still a hefty portion left. All in all it was really good, I'd definitely go for lunch here again another time.
Tried the Panang curry here, it was tasty. The place has nice ambience. Only thing I didn't like was that the Entrée curry didn't come with any side like Rice. I had to order it separately.
They have one of the best lunch meals in the area around 9$ for a soup, appetizer and main. I find the portion too big for one person but that's me. The food is okay, I found the chicken a bit hard the last time I went and I wasn't really pleased but the service is fast and it's a good option for a quick lunch. I've had their stir fry ginger chicken which was extra hot and beef with broccoli which was sweet.
The mango salad and pad Thai were disappointing. The shrimp nuggets were liked by my daughter but some of the shrimp still had the shell on. The cold rolls were nice and the dip that came with them was good. Still on the lookout for a good mango salad in this area after another local place closed.
Only the red curry and hot noodle soup were gluten free. I ordered the red curry and it turned out to be pretty good. The curry was a bit watery but the taste and quantity were above average. The prices were very friendly too. Will definitely go again!
This place is great! I've had Pad Thai all over this city and its one of my favorite dishes! Theirs is excellent! The appetizers were seriously on point! My wife and I loved everything we had. The staff was curteous and the service was great! I gave it 5 stars cause I don't care about atmosphere and decor. You may take a star off because it's not the most beautiful restaurant you'll ever see but the food and people more than make up for it!
Hugely disappointed in my experience. The Marshal Spicy Chicken was incredibly sub-par. The chicken seems to have been deep fried at least twice or more giving it a dry, chewy texture. The so-called "extremely spicy sauce" was barely spicy. It was, however, extremely *salty*. With a name like "Hot Thai House" I expected something at least moderately spicy and more enjoyable than this. There was one other couple in the restaurant when I was there and when they were ordering they were very concerned that the Cashew Chicken might be too spicy for them so if this is their experience with customers, I suppose they could be forgiven for thinking that people here can't handle spicy food.
CHEAP AND CHEERFUL The food quality is not consistent. You can order the same dish several times and get different results - sometimes it's salty, sometimes its bland and sometimes it just right. I'll keep coming back though cause the price is right - it's cheap, quick and easy and overall okay. The service is also alright. They recently opened here so I'm hoping witj time it will only get better.
When ever I am in the mood for a small dish, lots of flavour, and quick service, I come here. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is amazing. During a work break, or when Im too tired to cook at home after a workout, I make a quick stop here. Mango chicken is my go to. Pad thai wasn't the best. So I don't order it anymore. But the other dishes more than make up for it. I will keep going back. I like the staff and my go to dishes.
