Came by for a few pieces the other day. A lil pricy but still good. Soup was great! Thank you for your patience and service.
Food is average, very friendly staff! I guess it’ll be a good place to hangout when you’re not too hungry and want to sit down somewhere to chat. Suggestion: Need to give more soup for take out. That is the soul of oden, I was disappointed when opened mine.
It’s a pretty small/cramped store, and there are about 2-3 tables inside with no barriers between them. It has a lively modern Japanese-themed décor inside which was interesting. Great place for a quick snack to try something new, but I wouldn’t recommend it as a full meal. I got a bunch of assorted oden, and they’re about $2.50-$4+ per skewer the menu poster on the wall depicts 2 skewers in the pricing, but you actually only get 1 skewer so keep that in mind as it can get pricy very quickly. I’d pass on the udon as it was very very basic. My hands down favourite was the Black Pepper Chicken Bone Stick - there’s crunchy cartilage inside for added texture, and it has a strong black pepper flavour. The other ones were quite similar to me, some had filling eg. Creamy cheese, and some tasted fishier than others.
A quaint store with fitting Japanese decor. The dashi soup was just right for my liking, I find that outside food tends to be too salty, but the soup didn't make me feel thirsty after! Around a $15 order is just the right amount for a small meal, you also get the free udon promotion with it. They are currently coming out with new items. For the new items I would highly recommend the Thai Style Shrimp Balls for spicy lovers, the Golden Mochi Cake was quite special, and the rice square paired well with the oden. A must-get is the curly fish cake, the special sauce they have is 10/10 slightly spicy. Also really excited to see them on UberEats now, would try ordering for take-out next time. It was a very pleasant and wonderful dine-in experience!
Service: Food: Drinks:? Seating/Ambiance: Acceptable service for an order at the counter type restaurant. Nothing positive, nothing negative, just give your order and have a seat. Oden and broth were overall good with a fair selection of options but I am biased because I enjoy oden a fair bit. Wouldn’t say anything is outstanding but just decent to positive all around. Didn’t grab any drinks but all they have are some select options of bottled beverages. Minimal seating and decor but it shouldn’t be hard to find a spot outside of peak hours. Overall would give it 3.5 but rounded down since nothing stood out.
It was okay, the staff were really nice, tho since there’s only one person serving, so the services can be slow. The store is clean and have a nice aesthetic. Many food options to pick from. However, the oden is really bland and disappointing. The soup had the most flavor but it’s mostly just fishy and salty, not really umami. However, the skewers can taste really watered down. The price point isn’t cheap nor expensive relatively speaking. For a bit more money, there are many better places in Vancouver. Probably won’t return again. Edit: they give a free Udon for every 15 dollars you spend in the store, thought that was nice.
Food is good , quite expensive tho. It's worth a try.
At least it doesn't taste like Japanese oden. Have you ever eaten Japanese oden? It's totally different. It's sad to think that foreigners misunderstand Japanese oden. for sure, Owner is NOT Japanese.
The food is nice and the staff is so friendly! Love the fish roe lucky bag and mochi bag most!
Foods are deliciousand price is acceptable. Staffs are so nice and friendlyreally appreciate for their service
