Honeymoon Bay Lodge & Retreat

The place is excellent place for a retreat, rest even office functions. The staff are very courteous. Food is also excellent. The rooms are also clean and impressive. It is also close to the beach. Check their website for their services.

The lodge itself is lovely but what really sets this place apart is the service. I cannot say enough good things about the caring and friendly people working there. They epitomize the words customer service! We biked there with our kids and got caught in some heavy rain on the way. They helped us put our bikes away in a locked room, offered to put our gear through their dryer and showed genuine concern to make sure we were settled in and comfortable.

After a day at Bushart Gardens and driving to Lake Cowichan to find that the South Shore Motel was less than to be desired we pulled into the Honeymoon Bay Retreat. The cook at the restaurant greeted us, checked us in and prepare an enjoyable meal. This retreat opened April 2008 and thus everything was new. The space is an old school that was completely redone. There are common areas for lounging, watching a movie, reading or just enjoying the company of others. There's a tranquil fountain in the courtyard and a library of good books. My 16 month old daughter even enjoyed the stay and there is a city park less than a quarter of a mile away. Ask at the friendly, personable staff for a variety of things to do, see and places to hike. They have print outs and reviews from other visitors. Port Renfrew is about an hour and a fun drive. Also, hike at the Cowichan River provincial park for awesome views of the river and welcoming forests. Enjoy your stay.
