A fantastic eatery, bar, and coffee bar in Clarkston. The atmosphere and decor are awesome. I especially love the bar / coffee side. The staff are SUPER DUPER friendly. The food looks great and the desserts ARE fantastic. The beer and drink selection is really good. The coffee is fantastic. The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended.
We got a recommendation for Honcho and it did not disappoint. Drinks were fantastic and we got the draft margarita and strawberry mint margarita. For appetizers we got the salsa trio and queso which was amazing. For dinner my husband got the chicken tortilla soup and we got a few different types of tacos. Such a great place and I loved the ambience and music. Can’t wait to go back! Vegetarian options: Good amount of vegetarian options! Kid-friendliness: Lot of kids here and friendly staff who can help out Parking: We got lucky to find a spade behind the resturant in the lot but there were not a lot of spaces
Ordered the Korean Pork tacos, Bulgogi taco, and the nachos with Korean pork to go. The Korean pork, Nachos and donuts were phenomenal. The hostess informed me that the pork was roasted right next-door at Woodshop restaurant and you can definitely tell. It was fresh, smoky and packed with sweet delicious flavor. The tortillas were fresh and homemade, they complimented each other very well. All the flavors were well balanced in my humble opinion. The donuts is not how you expect. They are crispy and not dough-like at all. They were sugared already so I had no need for the sauces they came with. Adding the sauces just makes it too sweet. Again, just in my humble opinion. RATINGS Meal 4 out of 5 not in love with the bulgogi Ambiance 4.5 out of 5 love the indoor, outdoor, and bar seating, clean as well Customer service 5 out of 5 Hostess was attentive, knowledgeable, and very friendly. Very low wait time as well. Overall experience Rating 4.5 Would definitely come back if I’m in the area, if you are, check it out and post your experience.
Pictures show beautiful food items nicely displayed. Salchipapas-covered fries was my favorite dish in this trip. Taste was under what I expected, a little bland. The pickles inside the burrito were a nice touch since it was the hot chicken type, good hot to cold balance tho the heavy spice took away from the flavors of the other ingredients. Seeds on top the beans were a fabulous topping, yum, beans were quite plain. Two Champ tacos are kind of hard to eat, I ordered the fish and Korean bbq, the meat/fish was not pushed all the way into the shells which made all the toppings fall off after first bite. A rebuild with fork eat, fish had a good bread to fish ratio. BBQ meat was tender and well dressed. The lemon zest on the key lime pie was piled closely together for one zesty bite, crust was a bit soft and broke into a lot of pieces, crust/pie middle smooth and sweet. I always give places a second time around…until next time.
First our bartender Sonja nailed our margaritas. Probably the best I had in Detroit so far. The food was good. The staff here is what makes this place better. The ambiance is beautiful. Little sitting area all over. This is a place that you can just get coffee with a dessert..just a drink for date night....or full.blown out drinks and meals with a stumble to your car lol
Food, atmosphere and accommodations were absolutely wonderful! Pre-COVID 3 friends and I had quarterly restaurant outings, sometimes more. This was our 1st in-person outing since Feb, 2019. Honcho's was recommended because of the outdoor heated bubbles which accommodated the need and desire for social distancing. They did not disappoint! Nice and cozy, even at 4pm on a very cold day. We only had 90 minutes allotted to us, compared to our usual 3hr sittings. But we understood and the server was awesome. While the fare is Mexican, they changed it up a bit by adding sweet potatoes or brussels sprouts to a burrito and some other things you can check out on their online menu. I wanted the Brussels sprouts side dish with black beans, and was told i could just make it a burrito, so I did. Was a bit surprised by the $18 bill I received versus the $5 side dish, but it was huge and lasted for 2 nights of leftovers. I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone here for a great dinner, warm ambiance and a perfect way to support a local business and community. Just keep an eye on the menu prices.
Honestly...it was the best plain cup of coffee I've ever had of all the things to review about. The baja tacos were wonderful and surprisingly one was more than enough and filling. But the coffee....I hope they sell their beans by the bag.Food: 3/5
Hadn't been to Honchos in a while. So delicious. Enchiladas will bring me back soon ! Struggling with restaurants after Covid. So many have made changes and cut corners, reduced portions while raising prices. The quality was as good as ever!
If you like it spicy, you'll love it here. Very fun atmosphere. Great outdoor patio area right in Downtown Clarkston.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
Ok, given that there is not a lot to do in this town during this time of the year, I decided to go coffee bar hopping. I want to say that this place has the best coffee on a 25 mile radius. Plus the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is super unique.
