Story

Homestead Junction (formerly Homesteader's Emporium) carries everything you need to get started with a variety of home self-sufficiency projects, like growing and preserving your own food, making cheese, keeping chickens, or making soap.

If you're new to these things, you've come to the right place! We'll be a great resource for beginners with knowledgeable staff, demonstrations, and instructional workshops.

All workshops and events are held at our retail storefront at 649 E Hastings unless otherwise stated. To register, please visit http://www.homesteadersemporium.ca/events and click the title of the event you wish to attend.

Please note we have ceased full-time retail operations.
Our retail store will open only during once-monthly pop-up Market Weekends:

March 10-12
Friday March 10th: 11am-6pm (stick around afterward for a social! Cash bar with proceeds going to support the ACLU)
Saturday March 11th: 11am-6pm
Sunday March 12th: 11am-5pm

April 7-9
Friday April 7th: 11am-6pm
Saturday April 8th: 11am-6pm
Sunday April 9th: 11am-5pm

May 12-14
Friday May 12th: 11am-6pm
Saturday May 13th: 11am-6pm
Sunday May 14th: 11am-5pm

Web orders may be picked up at the next Market Weekend, or any Wed-Sat between 10am and 3pm at Hidden City Records at 651 E Hastings (adjacent to Homestead Junction storefront).

Mission

We offer accessible, quality supplies for self-sufficiency, especially those that would otherwise be difficult or inconvenient to source. We offer a continuum of learning options, creating consistently awesome introductory content while tapping into a network of specialists to help people take their skills to higher levels. We forge alliances with grassroots organizations that promote self-sufficiency and sustainability through education.
