Story

At Homestead Cookhouse BBQ, we have gone to great lengths and expense to ensure that the products we use do not contain hydrogenated fats (trans fats) or msg. We also try to keep sodium to a minimum. We hope you enjoy your meal. If you have any allergies please let us know.
Bison/Buffalo, Pulled Pork and other Hearty Favourites.
Our BBQ pulled Pork and Beef Brisket have been slow smoked in our custom smoker for 10 hours. We make home made sauces and toppings to create a BBQ flavor that will keep you coming back. Our prices are very competitive given the product we produce. Its home cooking with great taste.

Please... take chili of your menu. I see you enjoy a good average review, but from that I can't begin to understand why. "Gross" may seem harsh, but... at least the prepackaged crackers got some of the taste out. Yes, I'm the guy that handed it back to you 7/8ths full and said, "thanks anyway" and despite standing outside your door quietly writing this review, I could hear the waitress telling you I didn't like it, yet you aren't offering me anything else. So both on account of the chili and your ability to turn an unhappy customer... yuk.

LOVE the food here! Fresh and delicious! Prices are very good portions are huge! Food is home cooked and full of flavour a real hidden gem in Port Alberni! 👍🏼❤️👍🏼❤️

Truly one of the best kept secrets on Vancouver Island. Most people only pass through Port Alberni to get to Tofino or Ucluelet never realizing they are passing by the best pulled pork sandwich on this rock. Eat it while taking in the beauty of the harbour quay. Joan, the chef, is also a real treat to laugh and converse with. We won't be able to go through port Alberni again without stopping in.
