HollyNorth is a great location for productions supplies. They have saved the day on more than one occasion. Very conveniently located, they have pretty much everything you need to put on a show. If you are looking for anything production related in Vancouver area, talk to these people first!
First and foremost, HollyNorth is a business that caters to a specialist industry, so they're not exactly geared towards the general public - you're going to HollyNorth because you know what you want and you know that they have it. With that in mind, I have found HollyNorth to be a pleasure to deal with for years. Friendly staff who know what they're doing, know what you need and happy to help you out. And that's the kicker there - happy guys in this industry usually means that you are doing it right ;-
You can order custom Rosco Marley flooring through them. If you're buying something from the web store and picking up... don't go and pick it up right away cuz they might not have the item.. like the Marley floor, call first or else you waste a trip like I did
With the pandemic, service everywhere has been very poor but not this place. The staff were incredibly helpful and even made me walk out with a smile on my face after their joking around. Dealt with 3 different staff and couldn't praise them enough for their amazing customer service.
Professional-oriented store but a great resource for hobbyists, and very friendly staff. A lot of hard to find supplies there for great prices. Much better than trying to shop online for the same stuff, in Canada anyway.
While I cannot speak for the experience of shopping at the store in person, I would not recommend to anyone to shop via their website. I ordered a book I needed for a class and they charged me for it without giving me the shipping quote. The next day they asked for the shipping which was just as expensive as the book itself, so I wanted to cancel the order. They were able to reply quickly to ask me to pay for shipping but took much longer to respond in regards to cancelling the order and refunding my money. I didn't receive any communication from them so I simply opened a claim on PayPal so I could have it resolved quickly. My money was refunded but someone named Mike felt the need to say "A little hasty to launch a claim/complaint don't you think?". This is very unprofessional to me as a customer because I needed that money refunded and couldn't wait too long to be able to get it back. I've never seen a website that makes you pay for an item but doesn't display and attach the shipping cost with it at the same time. Don't order from HollyNorth online unless you want to get slapped with a big shipping fee unexpectedly and then ridiculed by their staff when asking to cancel the order and get a refund.
Somewhat disappointed in their service. After purchasing a particular product for over 5 years from them, the new batch of the product didn’t work. As we usually buy in bulk we didn’t notice right away. Once we noticed, we went to Holly North and the owner insister that’s the way the product was supposed to work improperly.After, we showed him a video of it working correctly and he mentioned it must be a fault in the supplier. They did did say they would check with their supplier. We are a small business. Surely his larger customers will soon notice the difference. No reparations or amends were made. Unfortunately we now have to try to find the product elsewhere as HollyNorth’s product did not function as is it previous had.
Super helpful and friendly! The owner Mike helped me personally and was fantastic to deal with. Mike and his team helped with some simple small gels and some softbox questions I had. Thanks again guys!
Called to check product availability when the website got a little confusing - lady who answered the phone was fantastic and so helpful. They put my items on hold for me to pick up later that day. It was just a good experience.
