
A 1,200 acre preserve located in the heart of Iowa's Loess Hills offering hiking, birding, camping & more.
Open year round Hitchcock Nature Center is home to the Loess Hills Lodge Interpretive Facility & offers visitors many opportunities for low impact recreation. We feature a RV & tent campground, primitive backpack camping, playground, archery range & picnic areas along with over 12 miles of hiking trails in the scenic Loess Hills.
Hitchcock Nature Center is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. 365 days a year. The Loess Hill Lodge Exhibit Gallery is currently operating on spring hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. We are closed Mondays & major holidays.
Admission is $2.00 per vehicle or purchase an annual permit for $10.00.
