BE PREPARED FOR THE MOSQUITOES!!!! Be prepared and definitely you will enjoy this beautiful, amazing God's nature!!! Nice beautiful nature and walking trails. Beautiful falls. You can go behind it, beautiful experience . The quality of the air near the falls is amazing. But get ready for getting wet. Come wearing long pants, tuck the edge of the pants under the socks. Long shirt, hat. We apply mosquitoes repellent but it didn't help. There is an area for parking the cars beside one of the entrances of the woods. It can fit 6-8 cars only. You don't need to pay any fees to park the car and no reservations is needed. The only thing is be early in the morning to guarantee getting a spot. I was around 7:40 a.m. When we start the walk from this entrance, we didn't see any signs that help lead us to the falls, so we used the App Google Earth that help us find the location of the falls. So I highly recommend using it too if you want to be able to reach the falls easily. I am not sure if we used the main entrance, would there be clear signs leading from the falls?
A great trail leading to a great spot. The trail here is a nice, easy walk. It's also the yearly location of a really cool Fall trail race called The Beav if you're a trail runner. The trail is nice and flat and extra wide for a majority of the walk to the falls. Some of the other trails coming off of the falls are narrower and more rugged. The actual Falls is an awesome spot. There's a great lookout at the top of the falls, and another at the bottom. Technically you can hop over the guard rail and walk around the rocks at the bottom of the falls very much an at your own risk move. Love coming here.
This was a beautiful trail we walked on.. Saw quite a number of people on skis throughout the trail. Good trail for all age groups, it’s quite an easy trail. The highlight was of course the frozen waterfall! It’s a marvel to see something like this. Absolutely gorgeous It was a bit tricky to get up close to the waterfall due to the snow, and slightly slippery surfaces, but definitely doable if you are careful enough.
We went during the winter and it was a scenic trail! It is a relatively flat hike so great for people of all ages. I would recommend wearing shoes with good grip as it is very icy during this time of year. Approximately 1km to get to the falls from the parking lot. There’s a campfire near the falls and logs you can sit on. There are 4 other trails you can do too after you visit the falls. You need reservations but we went without and were able to book on the spot. Prices were $9 per adult. Definitely recommend visiting if you haven’t already been!
I was looking for a trail and found here. We loved the trail! There are easy, medium and difficult trails for both hiking and biking. Some trails were full of mosquitoes which was really annoying. But the highlight is the fall! We went behind the fall and it was an amazing experience. Definitely recommend it
Really love this place! Very nice trails! Falls is pretty. The toilets in the visitor Center were clean. There were good enough parking spots. We will definitely coming back again! Highly recommend
Multiple hiking trails for all fitness levels. Beaver Dam blue trail is the longest and a lot of fun. The views are great specially in the fall. There are trail markers everywhere like blue marked on trees so you can venture on your own on the side trails but won't get lost.
Beautiful place. Multiple trails including a couple for mountain biking. Kids friendly. Pets friendly. Reserve in advance. Not expensive at all. The picnic tables are available next to the parking lot and throughout the park. I enjoyed my time there
My friends have a Halton Conversation pass, and we went to check out Hilton Falls today. My suggestion and that's what we did is to take the Yellow trail to the falls, then return to the intersection with the Red trail and walk on the latter around the reservoir. Don't miss the lookout! The waterfall partially froze over and looked pretty. The stairs to the waterfall could be slippery in some places. There are picnic tables where birds are picnicking on seeds. I am not sure who feeds the birds - visitors or the park rangers. The observation deck at the waterfalls was not too crowded, as we came during the weekday. The stone wall next to the falls is the remnants of the old mill. I saw people on cross-country skies - if you are a beginner, the Yellow and Red Trails are for you. The Purple Trail is an 8K round trip. I wish we had time to explore it, as it had a higher difficulty level.
This was an incredibly rewarding adventure. The hike up to the waterfall is definitely on the more difficult side but there are seats ong the way which helps with resting along the way. The waterfall unfortunately was just a trickle as it hadn't rained in some time. I would still consider it a very good scene. Encountered some and squirrels. Absolutely worth it if you love going into nature
