Very clean and spacious restaurant. Ordered the battered haddock sandwich and it was great. Docking a star because I ordered crispy onions on the sandwich and it wasn’t included.
I have been coming here since Hero first opened here about 10 years ago. Back when they first opened I would have definitely given them a 5 star rating. The only reason I have given them 4 is, in the past few visits I feel their fountain pops are a bit flat. Food is always great though, you just can’t go wrong with the 4, 6, or 8oz burgers. Their grilled and breaded chicken sandwiches are amazing to. Their fries, poutine and onion rings are good to and Hero makes what I think are the best sweet potato fries. I like how over the years they expanded their menu and started fried chicken and chicken strips as well as frozen patties so you can make your own. I’ll definitely keep coming as long as they continue to make good food.
Drove 20 minutes to try this place tonight and I’m pretty disappointed. They put so much sauce on my burger that it’s inedible. I’ve had to scrape the sauce off of the patty and the bacon to try and salvage it…
Had brunch , chicken crispy burger and fries. Bread tastes like not fresh. Too much coating on the chicken but good. Not too oily. Fries were crisp. Will recomend to taste once.
The fries were old reheated tasteless ones and the burger was cold and bland, the only good thing was the drink and that was ginger ale and idk how that could be messed up, aside from that the store was clean and empty. I went pre covid about 6 years ago and the whole atmosphere then was different even the food was better.
The beef patty was better than McDonald's, whatever meat you choose will be better, for sure, which gives them a slight advantage on that field. As fora dinner experience is about the same as the usual competitors. I mean, it's still a fast food place, not the KEG. I would come back if I crave some good meat. Place is trendy and clean. Kudos for the manager in turn, he was working like an orchestra man.
The burger options all sound interesting to try. I had the Action Hero, which I would definitely have again. The guacamole, onion ring, bacon, cheese, etc made for a satisfying lunch. Although my co-workers' orders were switched, the staff offered to make another burger. It was nice of them to try to rectify their mistake, but we didn't want to waste food and we had already begun eating.
I always appreciate the gluten free bun, and the different types of cheese to choose from. My meal always looks pretty, and temperature hot. You're going to pay more money for better quality ingredients. Worth it. I like that they use Boston lettuce instead of the usual iceberg or romaine. Staff was friendly. I like the option of having the Coca-Cola Free Style machine where you can choose from many types of drinks, except a ton of the drinks weren't available at 6pm on a Saturday. Would have given 5 stars but the restaurant is starting to show its age, and needs a good thorough clean. No hot water in the men's washroom. Regardless, the beef is always good and the food is tasty. The burger in my photo had Canadian cheddar, smoked cheddar, lettuce, pickle, Hero sauce and gluten free bun. Dipping sauce was ancho chipotle. It was a bonus when some of the melted cheese fell out of the burger on to my fries. So good.
A great burger place with a reasonably priced menu. I find the regular fries to be lack luster but if you can spare the extra dollar or so for an upgrade to the zucchini Fries or even the onion rings I'd say it's worth it. This particular place has a coke free style machine so that's a huge plus, not all locations do. If you're not okay with the 4oz "default" hero burger I'd say try a different patty, I don't find the upgrade to a 6oz or 8oz burger that particularly great of a value, but hey that's just me. Overall a decent burger place and worth a try if you haven't been to other locations.
Tried to convince me their plant based options are vegetarian without understanding the meaning of the word contamination. A sue ball would I'm sure help but best not to be that petty. I'm sure their food is otherwise decent, just an important case of education. God forbid an allergy issue i.e. they tried to convince me their mayo was egg free lol
