We used to use the Dakota County Library often but not any more. In the past couple years their late fee policy has changed. It is $.25 per item per day and they don't send any notice or have a grace period. I had a stack of magazines out once and was off by 3 days on when they were due. I owed $10 in late fees when I brought them in! Yes, it was my fault but my late notice didn't arrive until days after I returned them so I would have owed way more if I waited for that. If you use the library, be careful and keep good notes on when things are due or it can get expensive!
