Played a late fall 9 holes here today. Having golfed most of the shorter 9 hole tracks in Durham, I can safely say this is one of the best quality options around for a great rate. Greens and fairways were in top shape, nice layout, and friendly staff. Will be back.
Beautiful 9-hole course reachable within the GTA. Great for beginners and avid golfers alike for a shorter round of golf. Particularly impressive was that our friend got her lost ring found and returned - a testimony to the quality and honesty of the club and the players alike.
Very well maintained and groomed. Fairly challenging. Staff there are very friendly and helpful and the price is very reasonable. However yardages are not correct in most holes. Will definitely play there again.
Awesome fun every time I go out. Greens need some work. But I love this course I always have.
My second time out this year due to lockdown and enjoyed my game at Hawthorne Valley GC. Just North of Deer Creek, it has lots of par 3's and a couple par 4's. Great course for using your irons, it's maintained well with scenic holes. Staff was very friendly and follow covid protocols. Finished the round in just under 2 hours.
Great course. Long par threes and a couple long par 4s. Enjoy the fact that I can pull out a 6 or 7 iron even a driver because a lot of par 3s are for wedge play only. Very well maintained and well priced.
Great little 9-hole course that one can experience. Enjoy the layout, not long but still test your skills and shot making
I have played this course since 1999 and knew the original owner, Richard Wagner quite well. I was a member there for many years and always liked the mix of holes, some easy, some not so easy, and some like #6 very intimidating. Richard passed away in 2016 and that is when Ed became the proprietor . I don't play Golf as much as I used to, but I still manage to play at Hawthorne from time to time. It is a great course for those just learning the game, and for those who are working on getting better at it. Beautiful landscaping, very tranquil setting in a part of town that has escaped extensive development for now . Fun fact = Hole number 5 used to be a grass runway for small aircraft.
It was a perfect day yesterday. I was there at 2pm hardly anyone on the course. It’s family owned and they care!!!! Perfect place to get in a quick 9 holes.
Golfed today there for the first time with my son. Great value. beautifully maintained course. We had a great time and will definitely be back soon. Course is good for beginners with its wide fairways. Challenging enough for intermediate players to still be interesting.
