Here are some pictures to show the conditions of the course and how the reviews are inaccurate at this time. The cart paths are being worked on and there are some greens with past winter damage although now, many greens are looking and playing much better. This is not a course to practice your putter. The fairways are in excellent condition so you can work on your iron play. The course plays long and the layout, will allow you to use every club in your bag . This is not an easy course, you have to be very accurate with your shots. Enjoy your round as we will keep working on this beautiful golf course. Remember that everyday golfing is a great day. More pictures to come. Adrian, Superintendent.
Had one last round at Annandale Golf mid November 2020, now that the land has been sold. The course is set among a dramatic river valley and, yeah, conditioning has not been their forte over the years and some of the oldest trees have sadly succumbed to the brutality of time. But for the price offered to a member's guests, this place still offers dramatic elevation changes, challenges, frustrations and the kind of value and fun that makes golf worthwhile.
This is by FAR the worst course I've ever been to. Even for the cost of $40, it is not even close to being worth the money. There are no redeeming qualities about this course at all. Overall, the course is not dynamic and not maintained whatsoever. The first issue is the Tee Box. The ground is extremely uneven and hard, making setting up a proper Tee very difficult. Next, the fairway, shown in one of the pictures, is completely dead and sometimes even devoid of grass entirely. The ground is so hard that its almost impossible to use your irons. There are massive holes in the fairway that will cause your ball to ricochet off into the rough, even after a perfect drive. Next, you'll get to the putting greens. As shown below, they're anything but green. These pictures are from Hole 7, in which there are massive portions of the putting green that have no grass at all; you would have to use a sand wedge to get your ball out of there. Please also note the below picture of a live and active ant hole, which was also on the Hole 7 putting green. Unfortunately, this issue was not exclusive to Hole 7, as all the putting greens were to some degree as bad. Lastly, the cart trails are very rough, uneven and extremely dusty. If you have back problems or dust allergies, this will be a nightmare for you. Keep an eye on your golf bag because the ride is so rough it may fall off the cart. In regards to the staff, they were friendly enough. Unfortunately that doesn't do much for the course. Keep in mind, they will automatically put you with other people in order to reach a party of 4, even with the current COVID-19 situation. When you book your tee time, you are NOT told this. Guys, save yourself the agony, go to 4 Seasons Golf Club in north Pickering. It's maybe 10-15 minutes further north. The prices there are very reasonable, only slightly more expensive than Annandale. The course is such a good quality they could easily charge at least double their current rate.
We went here for a curling tournament and had a great time. The club house and change rooms are a little dated but the ice surface was good for an amateur like me. The food was o.k., nothing to rave about and it filled a hole. They had some local beer on tap and that is always worth a star in my reviews. The staff were friendly but they could have used an extra hand or two as the service was slow at times. With a little TLC and some attention to the menu this place could be great.
Take this warning seriously. Do not waste your time here. I thought "how bad can it be" and here I am after playing 7 holes dug in cow pasture, trying to save you from the disappointment. The picture is the bridge to the 8th hole inaccessible. Your better off playing golf up the 401.
Went for my first time ever to try and hit the golf balls. Was a great time, kind staff, nice location. Will for sure be going back!
One of the oldest Golf Course and Curling Club in south Ajax. Lots of potential to upgrade the entire property before this historic spot turned into another housing project.
This course is absolutely amazing for what you pay! Greens may be a little rough on some holes but if you are not a pro golfer like me this place is literally perfect. No pressure from any other golfers behind you and you have time to play your holes and don't have a pair behind you that makes you rush your shots. Adrian helped me out so much with my iron swings and overall this is a great course for practice and the price is unbeatable. I will definitely be coming here again very soon. I am only done 7 holes so far and am so happy with this place I decided to make the review. Obviously this isn't a high class, high dollar course but it is amazing for what you get. Amazing people that work here too and I have seen employees non stop working on the greens since I got here. Thank you guys P.S they do have a driving range and it is cashless right now!!
My rating is for disc golf only. This is one of my favourite courses to play. Some long holes that can be tough specially for beginners. Also has some short holes that help to even it out with birdie chances. Really forces you to use different shots if you hope to score well. Price is quite reasonable with $10 to play all day, $7 for a round. Usually play 2 or 3 rounds when here. With two players we usually get through a round in less then 1.5 hours walking. Option to rent a cart if you want. Wind can play a big factor on the first and last few holes. Tee pads clearly marked with boulders but could be improved just grass and dirt often they get muddy and hard to get good footing. No signage, if you have Udisc on your phone it is not an issue.
You get what you pay for. Price is great and the course has potential however it's just not maintained. The cart path is the worst I've ever been on. Some holes are decent with nice views. The back 9 is much better than the front 9. Expect to loose a lot of balls and the fairway grounds can be very hard. Don't expect much from the washrooms too. If you want something under $50 with cart and if its close to your house then try it out. Just don't have high expectations.
