Highly recommend this place!! Went here for the birthday dinner, ordered +5 dishes and variety of sake and nothing let me down but only gave fantastic experience! Food was incredible, every sake was amazing, and all servers were genuinely super kind and simply, WOW. They explained every sake where it came from, taste, ingredients, etc and kept checking is everything alright. Only wish I can share how happy and grateful my experience was however my words cannot contain it!! If you never or haven't tried good Japanese or sake bar, please try here. You will not regret!!!!! Thank you everyone and see you next time -Phoebe
Curious I popped in to discover a new gem within the city. A place where you can feel the enthusiasm of the craft. My server was very knowledgeable about Sake and happy to explain the story of each bottle and their personal recommendations. I felt at ease and relaxed. The food itself you can taste the enthusiasm from the chef's joy of what they do combining great flavours to something a little different and tastes so great. It brought me back to being in Japan. I highly recommend this place.
Love the food and service here , exceed my expectations. We ordered most of the stuff from the happy hour menu and the weekly special menu . Everything was tasty. We walked in around 530 without any reservation. The place was not busy at that time but an hour later was almost full. Whole book of sake selections , we are not sake drinkers, but we ordered the 4 once sake flight for $35 as the waitress Miki explained those are expensive sake and even hard to find in Japan. There were only 2 servers on the floor, but they were very efficient . The drinks might take a bit longer, but we didn't need to wait for long. Miki is amazing
Super cute and delicious spot! Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable about all things sake and I loved the ramen and small dishes I ordered. It’s great for a group but also really good solo. Highly recommend!Recommended dishesMini Ramen, Blue Fin Sashimi, Sake Flight
10 out of 10 experience. Went out to Hashigo for diner. So many delicious items on the menu to try. Tried the Pine Mushroom Onigiri, tempura, Saikyo Miso lamb chop, and Tsukemono fresh pickles and all were delicious, some unexpectedly different than I would have expected. Even the Edamame has an interesting twist on the flavours.
I highly recommend this restaurant! The food is delicious, and the sake fantastic. There was many varieties of sake, and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. I visited on a Sunday and made sure to come back before heading back home to Ontario.
Newly-opened must-go venue for sake lovers and in general everyone. With a wide palette of sake, Hashigo excels in offering an authentic experience of Japanese sake culture. The menu is at the same time informative and easy-to-follow. I do learn a lot about the making of sake from reading it. The flight is definitely a good start, not to mention it changes periodically. I really enjoy the opportunity to compare different sake simultaneously. And, don't forget to add some small plates to pair with sake. They are Delicious! Oden is especially comforting at winter time. !
The food was simply delicious - I especially loved the chicken ramen. But what made this experience truly stand out was the incredible service. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. The entire staff seemed genuinely happy to be there and eager to make our meal memorable. I can't recommend this restaurant enough - the food and service were both exceptional. If you're looking for a great Japanese dining experience, this is the place to go!
Food is really fairly cheap and good portion compared to other izakaya places in Vancouver. Also has a variety of different sake to choose from. The staff is really friendly and explains the sake before serving. We ordered the ankimo monkfish liver, ryukyu sashimi salad?, doteni braised beef tongue, ikameshi rice-stuffed squid, and una cha eel fried rice. My favorite was the ankimo and doteni. I found the rice in the rice dishes to be slightly sticky similar to when you cook rice with too much water. Overall, a great recommendation for peole looking for a new izakaya place to try!
This became my all time favourite Japenese restaurant. The service was amazing, very nice plating and on top of it all, the food was fantastic and fresh! The restaurant itself is very vibey and cozy. Would definitely come back whenever I am in Vancouver!
