I recently returned from a week-long stay at the Harvest Lodge on Waterhen River, and I cannot recommend it highly enough! From the moment we arrived, the staff, Jon and Karissa went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. They were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring that our group was well-prepared for our hunts. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, and the food served was delicious and satisfying after a long day in the wilderness. Our guide was skilled in tracking and locating bears, which made for a thrilling and successful hunt. I will definitely be returning for another adventure! This is the perfect destination for anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable bear hunting adventure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Harvest Lodge in August 2022. We met our family from Alberta for a week long reunion. We enjoyed the cabin, the location and fishing the river. The owners are always available to help out, give advice on fishing and to make your stay very enjoyable. Our dog also felt extremely welcome by the owners. There is a play ground for the kids, the best fish cleaning facility I have ever seen as well as a lot of wide open space. There are many different cabin options ranging in price as well as in amenities. For us the four bedroom cabin was the perfect size, however, there are smaller kitchenette units perfect for just two people wanting to get away for a little fishing. The only problem we have is trying to figure out the next time we can visit!
I've been lucky enough to take Veterans to Harvest Lodge for an incredible bear hunting experience the last few years. The hosts Jon and Karissa are great people who go the extra mile to make it a great time. Food is awesome cabins are great. Hass and Drake there 2 labs are great. If you want an awesome experience this is the place to go. 100% you won't be disappointed.
My group and I had an amazing experience at Harvest Lodge. The couple that own and run the establishment are by far some of the nicest and most accommodating folk I've ever met. Although I stayed for 7 days, it felt too short. Hope to see them again in the future!!
I just recently shot the biggest bear of my life here. To top it off, this was the biggest bear in the history of Harvest Lodge. The best hospitality and fellowship was experienced in camp. Jon and Karissa Warkentin are salt of the earth and amazing hosts. I've hunted here many times and every hunter that I've brought have harvested an amazing bear!! This is definitely the place you want to bear hunt!! Amazing!!!
I wish I could rate Waterhen Lodge even higher. Jon and Karissa are some of the most hard-working, genuine, thoughtful, and friendly people I have ever met. The location is beautiful. The food was amazing. The waterfowl hunting was the best I have ever experienced. My friend and I had the pleasure of hunting with Jon, his father, and his son. Phenomenal people that felt like extended family after just a few days. I definitely want to return.
It is hard to describe the amount of effort that Jon and Karissa put into their lodge, ensuring that you have a successful hunt an overall amazing experience during your stay with them. I did two separate hunts with Harvest Lodge in 2021, bear and water fowl. If you are wondering about success rate, all four of the bear hunters were successful, with two of the bears pushing over 450 pounds. Everyone saw multiple quality bears, left happy with our hunt, and created life long memories from our hunt. During the waterfowl hunt, Jon and his guide worked tirelessly to ensure we were set up in great locations each day. This culminated on the final day where we were went to a remote duck blind only accessibly by boat see the picture! where three of us hit our limit in an hour. Again its difficult to truly express in a review but I hope these examples highlight the dedication that the lodge owners have and also the experiences that can be had at a place like Harvest Lodge.
Harvest Lodge is the place to go if you love the outdoors and enjoy a family atmosphere. John and Karissa are outstanding host and will stop at nothing to ensure you have a great time. I did a bear hunt with Harvest Lodge in Sept 2019 and had a unbelievable time. I was blessed to harvest a 400lb black bear and also catch some fish. If you are looking for a place to hunt year after year or have saved up for that one hunting trip of a lifetime then Harvest Lodge is where you need to go! I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!
I had an amazing experience at Harvest Lodge! The accommodations were great and the food was amazing! I loved the hunting and fishing, I hope to get back soon for waterfowl season!
This was exactly what our family needed. Jon and Karissa were great hosts. Our cabin was perfect for our family and the area was beautiful. 4 days on the boat surrounded by wildlife and fish in the live well. Happy that we found this piece of paradise and looking forward to our next trip back.Rooms: 5/5
