You can't call them when travelling, to have them say pay down a Visa balance, or confirm a payroll deposit. Their VISA contractor never sends the 4 digit number, so I can't use bank machines. Deposited checks take a while to clear, and like banks, they are adding nuisance fees. Their staff vary from extremely polite, to kind of snippy at times, but this is probably due to mistreatment from the executive suite. Their service is far better than that of banks. They have made mistakes, but they at least corrected them, as opposed to denying they made mistakes, as bank staff do. Banks are generally much worse than they are. Their loans are better than bank loans.

I am extremely satisfied with The staff at the HartforFederal credit unions downtown Hartford location.My advise would be to consult with them regarding your banking needs in comparison to Banking at other institutions. I've been a member for 14years and growing. sincerely, S Ballard/S.B
