Happy Cake House

Friendly service from this small bakery owned and operated by a husband and wife. They made me a 3 layered white cake with fruit and whipped topping while I waited, which took about 15 minutes. A 9 inch round cake cost $35, which is cheaper than at T&T T&T charges $34 for an 8 inch round. The cake had a fine, moist crumb, and the sweetness was just right--not too sweet, just sweet enough. I deducted one star from the rating because I felt like they could've used more whipped topping, and I'm pretty sure that the fruit used in the layer filling was from a can. Also, the writing on the cake was not very professionally done. But it was still all DELICIOUS, and I'm happy that I found this bakery. Other items available included a triangular apple strawberry pie $1.99 which I was tempted to try but managed to resist. Egg tarts were $1.29 or 6 for $6.60. I also saw the usual assortment of hot dog rolls, BBQ pork buns, and some traditional black bean or red bean pastries. Cash payment only. The location of this bakery is tricky to find. It is near an ethnic supermarket at the back of the mall, down a very short hallway, . The hallway looks like it leads only to an exit, but this bakery is tucked on one side of the hallway. Worth a visit! Support this very small business! Highly recommended.

Very tasty Durian cake. The owner did not have one ready when we got there but assembled one in 20 minutes. The cake was moist and soft, the durian filling was fresh and creamy and the cream was not too sweet. Will go here again.

Second cake from Happy Cake House and we are, as described, very happy! Our cake was fluffy, light, not too sweet, balanced, just perfect! I made the order, admittedly, a bit late and they were so generous in accommodating my request. Remember to bring cash! A family-run business. We've enjoyed their Chinese-style fruit cake and famous durian cake.

The best Chinese bakery in Ontario. The Bbq bun $1.59 taste just like how a Bbq bun should taste like and definitely NOT dry. Way better then Saint Germain Bakery, Lucullus Bakery and T & T grocery market and NOT over priced. Their coconut buns 4 in a package, very generous with the coconut filling. Great customer service!

Stumbled upon this place while driving through Mississauga. Wanted to bring some Chinese pastries to my parents and reviews were good so we thought we would give it a try. Very hard to find in a plaza beside a grocery store but down a tiny hallway exit. It was 10:15am and the buns were coming out fresh. Grabbed 2 boxes and they were fantastic! Bread was so soft and fluffy, buns were large with lots of filling. Prices were great, all about 1.59. Cash only but they’ll accept e-transfer. Whole family was impressed and gobbled them up. Will definitely hit them up again if in the area. Actually good enough to go out of my way.

Great savoury puffs, excellent cakes to order. The owner is friendly and helpful and everything in the shop is fresh. The puffs are kept warm and moist with steamer pans in a food warmer and are delicious. I ordered a mango cake for a birthday and it looked and tasted great, 4 layers and she wasn't stingy with the mango, that's for sure!

Had found this bakery on google and decided to try it. Bought durian cake from this bakery 2 times already and price is reasonable, cake tastes fantastic and staff is super friendly. Durian cake was not too sweet or to plain it was the right amount of sweet along with actual chunks of durian inside of the cake. Absolutely fantastic bakery. Found my new go to bakery.

For the price of $1.59 almost all buns and no tax on 6 or more items, this is a great cheap breakfast place for Vietnamese and Chinese buns. The owner is a sweet and helpful lady. She also accepts e-transfers even though this is ideally a cash-only place. However, the reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the plaza it is located in is very sketchy. Take one step inside and you'll know what I mean.

The owners are such nice, accommodating people. They make it very clear what you are ordering and what to expect. Priced very well. I bought two durian cakes for the holidays and they were Delicious!! Coming back every year for sure. They decorate the cakes beautifully, without me requesting for it. Great service that you would expect everywhere you go, but rarely encounter.

A classic grandma bakery. Fairly priced, everything is delicious. They have halal options. The peanut rice balls are my absolute favorite. The chicken buns too are good and the custard buns are just as great.
