I have been visiting here for 40 years. A great spot of sand beach close to home. The beach extends for miles and provides lots of walking. Sunbathing, swimming if you are brave to venture into the ocean and the cold water. I enjoy the fresh salt air, sand dunes and sun. There is also a camping area for RVs but no shade if you are into that kind d of camping. Restrooms: Restrooms were locked in the winter months.
Beautiful view of the ocean with close access to a very nice beach area. Walking or biking distance to many attractions. The campground has full hookups and is popular because of the location. The campground could be cleaner and better maintained. Biggest con: the campground and beach say no dogs, people ignore that, have them in the campground and on the beach and don’t clean up after them.
Camped here over the fourth of July weekend. There's a reason this place is sold out all season. It's within walking distance to the far end of Hampton beach, which tends to be way less crowded than the strip. The sites are simple and easy to back into. Hook ups were well maintained and in working order. The camp store and bathrooms are a bit of a walk though. Fire pits do the job. Possible drawbacks are no alcohol outside of the camper and no dogs allowed.
What a great spot, right near the water! And some of the best people work here, I've had such a great time and I really appreciate them very them very much! Thank you again to Karen Lee again to Karen, Lucille, and Bill, you guys made this stay even more fun and I thank you! Happy trails!! :
Best location have ever camped in my travel trailer. They had the best hookups I have ever used. The attached picture is the view from site 16. Were I stayed. I had to win a lottery to get my spot, but the daily price was extremely affordable for this amazing site.
We were able to switch spots to get directly on the water. Hampton is a sleepy town this time of year, but had a great bike ride, amazing seafood platter at Brown’s Lobster Pound and survived a monster rainstorm!
Karen was extremely rude from the second I walked up to the office. I greeted her with a friendly hello, with no response and staring daggers at me, and when I said I had a reservation she paused and pointed at my camper and said, with disgust "in that?!" pointing to my van. When I confirmed, she said "no." There was a pause while I waited for an explanation. Looks like the other reviews mention how incredibly rude she is as well. She seemed to take pleasure in denying us entry because we couldn't hook up to the sewage, even though we're self contained and use solar and a composting toilet, and doesn't need water. It's literally cleaner than the other campers and uses no park resources! I was very nice the whole time, but was met with accusations of lying about having the campervan there before, which I did a couple years prior, and she wouldn't even look at me most of the time we talked. She was also quick to deny a refund, but eventually gave me the name of someone else to contact, but said they probably won't give a refund either. So now we have no place to stay for our event. I can't believe, with all the negative things people have to say about her, that she's worked there for 24 years and is the MANAGER which she made sure to mention to try to backup her accusation of me lying. It's a tourist service, yet NH State Parks has put the rudest person I've ever dealt with in charge. Because of Karen, I'll won't ever use NH state parks again and will not renew my state park plate. Plenty of other nice places to visit.
