Highly recommended and affordable restaurant. Ordered the Biryani multiple times through DoorDash, the taste's above average but recently I dined in here and it tasted better compared to online orders. The spices felt perfectly balanced unlike what you feel when it cools down. What's more is the price is incredibly affordable for the quality and quantity of the dishes. Their service was exceptional. The girl who took our orders was incredibly kind and accommodating.
So, here we go, i had bad experience in Karila Keema total meal cost was $21 , it just a name of Karila Keema, it’s full of Beyond the meat keema With Bunches of Onion, honestly cook need to learn and get professional certification In another picture, I had Arabic mix shawarma plate it cost me with Drink $19 , full of authentic taste and ingredients so reason to share both pictures of price variation, Halal Shamiana prices are ultimately hype and high!! I’m disappointed!!
There is no sincere love than the love for food for foodies like me. Specially the non-veg delicacies are my weakness. We Parsis know all the ingredients to make A Simple life - Majja Ni Life Recently invited Halal Shamiana Desi Restaurant, 816 Britannia Road Mississauga Canada It's quite popular among the locals I have visited the place with my friend - a Parsi foodie too. It's a compact place with dinning area, popular for halal traditional Pakistani specialities. We have enjoyed hot and spicy chicken seekh kebabs served along with salad. The one of the popular dish - Mutton bheja fry with soft hot butter naan. It's a classic combination. The food looks great, served hot, delicious in taste. This is my first visit to this restaurant.
Very disappointing start of Saturday, ordered Desi Nashta, halwa puri, paya and naan. I don’t understand how people accept this as a paya. No taste, not properly cooked. Same with Chana and aloo tarkari. Bad packing material, Chana and aloo mix with halwa. Aloo tarkari is way off, it looks like aloo ka Salan rather then breakfast material no taste either. 1 star for naan and puri.
**Latest Edit** This is my 5th time ordering with this restaurant you can read my last edit where I ordered Haleem as well and we liked it! Because it tasted like an actual Haleem time from my DoorDash account. We decided to try our luck again with Haleem, and sadly today Haleem felt like they took *old daal and mixed it with leftover Qorma and leftover Kebab*!! It tasted NOTHING LIKE HALEEM! The previous 4 times I had ordered mainly biryani at different times of the day and each time I received oily and hard rice biryani. Which I have been updating in my review To sum up, not that good of a restaurant!! ** Original Review ** We had Lamb Karahi, to be honest it should be named as Lamb Stew, because it was not a Karahi at all, however it did taste really good. We also ordered biryani chicken, it was tasty and really close to Karachi style, but it seemed it was from the end of the cooking pot; oily and little hard rice. Overall, I would rate it 4/5. Customer service was good too. What I don't like, when someone is not willing to pay the tip, has to fiddle around options on the machine. ** First Edit **: I am updating my review after ordering two more times. Biryani is still the same, oily and hard rice! Haleem was good. If you are looking for a Pakistani food, you can get it based on your luck what you ordered. Chefs need to listen to the reviews, or they may face declining orders.
Mix Veg Curry has a litre of oil.. Chicken pakora is more of burnt batter than chicken. Worst place ever!!
Was in the mood for desi breakfast halwa puri today because of the freezing cold. Food was really tasty - no issues at all. What you would normally expect from a good halwa puri place. I think the lassi could use some work to make it taste more authentic sour. All in all, a descent brekky place!
It took a while to get our food . However, the quality & flavor of kadai ghost and chapli kababchicken are top notch !! Though the chicken tikka masala was avg, the flavor was lost due to overwhelming veggies . We did inform them about less chicken in the dish. Overall good food .
Overall, Shamiana Restaurant is a good choice for authentic Indian cuisine. However, there are a few areas where the restaurant could improve. Firstly, the washrooms could use a renovation and more frequent cleaning. Secondly, in the winter the restaurant can get quite cold due to poor door systems that let in a draft. Additionally, the restaurant is quite small and cramped. Lastly, the portion sizes could be larger. With these improvements, Shamiana Restaurant could be even better.
I have tried their halwa puri. Puris are good and sides are decent too. They could use less garam masala in their cholay and offer pickles. I would go there again as no other places offer halwa puri on weekdays but better options are available on the weekends.
