I was in Petoskey for Hemingway's Birthday and ran out of time to go up to the Upper Peninsula for some fishing. Chris with the Michigan Hemingway Society recommended a quick fishing trip here. I camped out overnight, caught some rainbows, and had my own smaller version of the Big Two Hearted. Someone did fire off a handgun around sunset...probably just making sure everyone else in the camp knew he had a gun, lol. Anyway, I am not sure of the health of the trout fishery, and would have liked to seen more feeding, but hey I caught some so no complaints. It is close to a paved road. Nor far from a village. Only 30 minutes from Petoskey. What beautiful country! Good job Michigan. I will be back.

This the best get away and quiet, peaceful, and the river running right next to it!!! Always a great place to take the family!!
