We had been looking for a vet for vaccination of our newly acquired puppy, and found one that appeared to be reasonably good. So, we booked an appointment. A few disadvantages, namely: limited free but difficult parking right off a busy street, steps to climb down to get inside the place, unable to get an exact price for vaccination and becoming a client, very limited space inside to keep social distancing, troublesome animal smell and a somewhat rough receptionist welcome. These were negatives that weigh far too heavy for peace of mind, that we continued our search and landed on this Hôpital Vétérinaire de l’Est. Needless to say that we cancelled our previously booked appointment. None of the negatives I mentioned above existed. Large, clean location with at least a dozen vets. Reception was not necessarily welcoming but professional. A detailed breakdown of opening a file, with cost of each vaccination needed. Although we arrived on time, we had to wait for about half an hour, with no one caring enough to advise on further wait time. We were attended by an assistant Vet who did preliminary exams, providing all relevant information and patiently answering all the questions we had. The Vet subsequently joined us to give the various vaccinations, including inserting microchip, and providing further advice for caring for a puppy. Large selection of products for sale, on the shelves, but none that we were interested in at the time. Apart from the wait time, we had otherwise reasonably good service, and will further evaluate, if ratings change, on our next visit.
Great service everytime at the front desk from Nicole and Camille! Honestly if it wasn't for them and how much it shows they care for the customers I would've switched vets.. not everyone is polite at the front desk but those two honestly deserve a raise for how much time and effort and overall care they put. I personally like Dr. Lalonde. She's a wonderful kind soul that has helped my babies through very rare treatments and has overall always been 110% there for every question. Always stays positive with you and tries to make you smile even in a rough situation. Dr. Lalonde does really good and makes my babies comfortable every single time and it's rare I'll speak up like this for a Vet. It shows she cares for your babies and not only a paycheck at the end of the week. That's what I love!

They are thieves in this clinic, they gave me a quote for Castration and teeth removal for my dog of $567 dollars, and then since I only needed it the teeth removal the quote change to $647, for reasons they only understand. Miss. Tania was incredibly rude and even tired of trying to explain her nonsense estimation. But I guess for them is only business right? don't go there, find a clinic with principles.
We had a huge scare with our 6 months kitten and we werent sure if she was going to make it. After a $3k bill at another hospital she was just detoriating. We got a prompt appointment at hôpital vétérinaire de l’est and the person on the phone was very understandable of the situation. Next day at the appointment Dr. Babin and the nurse were extremely thorough to check my cat & for the first time in many days i found some hope that she was getting the right treatment. Dr. Babin & the entire staff is extremely caring & empathetic towards not only the animals but also the owners. Thank you for everything!
I went in for my cat who was in pain and i was very emotional and the vet took advantage of that by starting with the most expensives tests and billed me 830$ for a uti. He clearly saw that i would say yes to everything in my state and stated it couldn't be a uti even when i said thats what i suspected with the symptoms and all and performed unnecessary tests like blood work for GI symptoms.
The staff is extremely nice and the service was great..they managed to get me a last minute emergency appointment which most vets don't do.However the prices are a bit high.
My baby girl had her best experience in this clinic!!!!! she was so calm i mean depends on the animal temper too ofc , she had her spaying surgery she is so fine after surgery! in 4 days having her next appointment for her stitches to remove! Best clinic every and price are good so far! while had her surgery the doctor find out she had UTI so right away did urine test and gave her prescription medicine! she finished as well her medicine! Recommend this Vet clinic! Pictures about my baby before and after surgery!
I tried to get a prescription drug from another clinic and despite of loosing almost one hour I couldn't get it. During the whole process front desk personal seemed inattentive and careless. No-one asked any information about my request and the condition of my pet it was at home waiting for the pills. I can't evaluate the veterinarians, but the front desk personnel made me feel not welcomed at all. One of the tree attendants was a bit more carefull at the end, but it is pretty hard to erase the very bad first impression I had with the two other receptionists. That's deceiving to see since the clinic is minutes always from my home and it could be a convenient option
My dog required emergency surgery for a bowel obstruction and the surgery was done here.... I very was happy with the initial surgery and vet care provided and was kept very informed ... We did though have to return with wound complications collection of fluid under the skin causing leakage which brought us back a few times.... My concern was on return visits we were given different " opinions " from different vets ex . apply ice one said the the other said " oh no ice at all " as it seemed to cause a hole to form through his skin beside the incision .... Also the vet techs knowledge varied widely ... We saw some very skilled knowledgable techs , one in particular who was well aware of his case , can not remember her name , then others with min knowledge.... Also if you do not speak French do NOT recommend going here as very few speak any English..... The clerks at the front desk were always pleasant and all but one was very bilingual.... Over all my dog was saved and I am great full for that and to the vets who did the surgery......
