I was given a phone number to call to make an appointment for my mother. The hours to call are between 8:30-3:30. I literally tried calling at least 20 times in one day, AND NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE. When I called the general number and pressed '0', the person I spoke to transferred my call to the same phone line where I had tried calling all day. I had to call back and ask her NOT to transfer me as no one was answering that line. Her only advise was to keep calling the number until someone answered, or I could call another number to make a complaint. She was no only RUDE, but pretty nonchalant about me making a complaint, as if it was a daily thing and not a big deal! She was so rude and not helpful AT ALL, and still, I haven't been able to make an appointment! HORRIBLE SERVICE AND VERY UNFRIENDLY STAFF!

I've been in a few hospitals ...this is for all the bad reviewer's...if you think jeantalon hospital is bad ..go to fleurry its hell...or even Santacabrini it really really long...I've been in jean talon hospital many times and did a fantastic job for me even saved my life...my mother was there in cardiologist floor...and they took care of her they were fantastic ...I believe that we should look into the positive and not only negativity...it always easier to see the bad things what about the good things...no one is perfect unfortunately.

I went to this hospital in an emergency with extreme pain because it was simply, the closest hospital. Unfortunately the experience was memorably terrible. I was sent home, very likely too early and without a diagnosis of the root of the problem only to return in an ambulance with an even more extreme case 4 weeks later and a 40% death of the organ involved. Although there are many excellent and caring staff, this hospital is excruciatingly under-funded and so many great and over-worked staff cannot counter-balance deep flaws in overall direction/organization/policies. How could so many great people make so many 'mistakes' in my treatment? In emergency I was left for 12 hours overnight in extreme pain as the doses of morphine had zero effect on me. They told me the specialist doctor had left and so nobody could prescribe anything else until the morning. The emergency room doctor refused because I had been taken on by the specialist. I begged them to stop giving me morphine as it didn't work and they kept dosing me regardless. In general care, I was surrounded by patients and roommates with dementia and a tendency to scream all night. Throughout my stay I was left without enough pain killer and was at a high risk for complications because of this. There was only one nurse who had enough experience with my type of condition and was able to get my pain killer doses to me in a regular enough manner in order to keep the pain level down. Eventually I chose to change hospitals and immediately received better pain care and started healing. (Having a private room didn't hurt either.) This is a hospital that is 100% French-speaking so I wouldn't recommend it for people who don't speak French really well. The doctors are bilingual. I received excellent care in the Intensive Care Unit. Many violent episodes by patients towards staff happened during my 16 days there. I wouldn't recommend going here for any complicated health issues.

The doctor I saw was very nice but the admin staff leave a great deal to be desired! Abrupt to the point of rudeness and I'm sure that if I was French this would have been less the case. I've been doing my best to meet them halfway but they really don't seem to give much of a damn. Pretty shoddy for people in the healthcare profession.

I went there because I got into a severe accident, falling off of a cliff. I couldn't walk because i had a leg fracture(amongst other fractures and other injuries) and was having trouble pushing the wheelchair with my hands due to having cuts all over my hands. I asked for a bed so i could properly rest my fractured leg and the nurse just laughed at me and told me off and looked at me as if my request was absolutely preposterous.
