My friends and I had a wonderful experience!! Service was exceptional and so was the food! The employees are so nice, friendly, and attentive. I got the half salmon and sirloin and it was amazing. The food was so hot and fresh, the meat was so juicy and tender, breading was the perfect amount. Their homemade Tatar sauce was delicious too! It paired well with the salmon. The portions were great and filled me up. I loved every single bite and would love to come back to try the other items on their menu!!
Ive been meaning to go here since it opened but haven't had the chance to until recently. I can definitely say I was not disappointed. The meat was cooked well and tasted delicious. It came with many different sauces to try. Definitely reminded me of my trip to Japan.
Great experience here! The service is very friendly, polite, and prompt. There are lots of different cuts available and variations on your set. We got the chuck and sirloin and both were delicious. All the different sauces and ways to eat it too was really interesting - I especially liked the curry and Worcestershire sauce to dip my meat into and mixing my egg into the rice. The meat itself is very crisp and tender and definitely a unique experience, and despite the fried exterior and the amount of meat, it didn't feel super heavy to me. We also got a matcha beer which tasted exactly as it sounds, and I liked it more than I thought I would. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here! Fyi It gets very popular even on a weeknight. We could only get a table for 2 at the small bar section at the back on a Wednesday at 6:45, as all the booths were occupied or reserved.
I had such high expectations on this place. But I gotta say I was disappointed. The dish was cold overall, the soup the rice and the beef were all cold. The beef was not as soft and tasty. I would say the dish lacks flavor in general. My friends and i keeps dipping in sauce in order to finish the meal.
The staff are incredibly kind and quick. The food is phenomenal due to its incredibly fresh ingredients and unique dipping sauces. We got the half & half, which was basically ribeye and a Hamburg like tonkatsu. The meat was cooked perfectly at medium rare and the ribeye had amazing marbling. The Hamburg piece was incredibly juicy and not your typical Hamburg; they seasoned it beautifully and it was very filling. Will definitely come again to try other cuts!
The service was great! The food was okay, sad to say, I had better katsu for that price point. my main concern was that it was served in a cooler temperature than I expected. Also, I can taste that the oil used for frying is quite old. But the people working there were so lovely and welcoming.
So rare to find a place that specializes in gyukatsu! We were pleased! We also tried their salmon katsu which was delicious as well. All of the little dips and sauces they came with added a lot to the flavour, and portion was nice! Cute and a bit hidden... Vegetarian options: Seafood options available
Understated exterior but one of the best Japanese restaurants in Toronto in my opinion.Generous portions at an affordable price. Meat is always perfectly cooked. The curry, the sauce and even the salt will make you want to come back. And great service too!
I expected more from a $50 meal. Although the meal looks fancy, the quality of it doesn't meet the pricing. FOOD: I ordered appetizer chicken karage and it takes 25 minutes to be served. The chicken is unevenly seasoned, some pieces are very salty and some are bland. The main dish prime ribeye 7oz supposed to be medium rare. However, it's well done around 1/3 of the entire steak and very rare in the middle some pieces are bloody rare. It's served cold and not crispy at all. The fat in the steak is cold and hard like a piece of fat pulled out from refrigerator. The sauce amount is very limited, only enough for half amount of meat on the plate even after I order extra sauce. The rice is pretty bad and cold made from low quality rice. And my poached egg is bathed in half a bowl of water, also came out cold. All the premium meat is always marked as sold out, feels like they only exist on the menu for marketing purposes. Drinks: Very limited choices of drink. INSIDE: Large tables, bright and cozy area, most of the time is empty. Very friendly customer service.
It's worth a try. The cutlet was done very well. The beef was too chewy and not tender enough. The sauces are good though, which enhance the taste. I would suggest ordering the beef patty curry set, which is a few dollars cheaper. And expect a long wait for food.
