Superb dining experience. Chef was sweet when my daughter had to express her love of the food. Will be a primary reason to visit Shelbure Falls which was beyond lovely too. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell the love is in the details. I enjoyed our dinner and the 3 hour journey it took to have it. It was a lovely trip and worth it.

A tiny but excellent place. The filet was delicious, as was my Caesar salad. They really took good care of us.

The ambiance is what you notice first, it's charming and comfortable. But not on a Saturday evening. I had dinner with my husband and friends; not the best time to experience the the food or the charm. The noise level was horrific. Sitting across from our friends, we could barely hear them, needless to say, conversation was limited due to this. Fortunately and hour and some after we were seated two tables left and we could carry on a normal conversation. The service was excellent and attentive, regardless of the crowd. I had the filet mignon, which was cooked perfectly. The sauce, however, was so salty, I had to scrape it off and couldn't enjoy the mushrooms, again too salty. My husband and friend had the lamb, asked for it "pink and moist, not well done" emphasizing the "not well done". The lamb was very dry and too well done. The catch of the day, ordered by my other friend, said it was excellent. We decided against dessert. I would give The Gypsy Apple another chance because of everything I've read and heard about it, but I don't recommend reservations for Saturday evening.
