The University of Toronto Graduate Students’ Union (UTGSU) represents over 17,000 students studying in over 85 departments.
We advocate for increased graduate student representation, and act as a voice for students by lobbying national, and provincial issues on your behalf. The UTGSU engages you through community building events and campaigns, organized by the various Committees and Caucuses. We also offer you a variety of services, such as: health and dental insurance, confidential advice, various grants and bursaries, and access to gym space.

1. To co-ordinate the governmental activities of the graduate students in various departments of the University, the Graduate Students' Union Council and the School of Graduate Studies, their boards and committees and other related committees.
2. To promote and maintain communication between graduate students and the administration of the University.
3. To represent graduate students, individually or collectively, on all
matters in which representations may be in the interest of such students.
4. To promote and maintain responsible student government at the University.
5. To initiate, sponsor, co-ordinate and promote athletic, cultural, and social events in which graduate students may be interested, and in
general to promote the welfare and interests of Graduate Students.
