I recently visited the GSU Pub and I was happier than I usually am when I visit pubs. Why? Because I am fascinated with college pubs. Whenever I visit one, I can’t help but wonder which great minds once visited the place. Of course, the experience is highly dependent on which university I am at, and as you can imagine, #UofT tops the list.
Great prices, good service, it has some board games and pool table. Would recommend. Normal crowd would be Grad students
Good prices for drinks, but the venue is not accessible and does not have gender inclusive washrooms.
Man I love this place. Cheapest drinks around.
Really nice cheap hangout place. Beautiful quiet patio and no frills drinks. A few different beers on tap, $15 pitchers and other drinks too. No food, but you are allowed to bring your own.
Awesome place that's literally been there, as I've been told, for 50 years. Old school pub with decent prices and some local craft beers on tap and in cans. Limited food but local pizza place slices reheated, also some frozen stuff and chips if you're desperate. They're also cool if you bring your own food. There's lots of places in the area and Harry always sends people to The Clubhouse Sandwich Shop down the street when it's open. There's a sorta friendly regular crowd made up of profs, students and grads that still love the place. There's a small patio that's a lot of fun, but fills up fast. So get there early on nice days. Staff are friendly and the music is a mix of rock, alt, metal and punk. Harry will probably play Beach Slang if you ask him, he'll also put on Slayer if you need that. Fun Fact: The other reviews calling this a dive bar are sadly by people that have no clue what a dive bar is. It's a friendly, crusty old pub with fresh almost everything but the decor. Hopefully this gives a solid reference point.
A cozy little place on campus to catch-up with friends over a pint and some light snacks. There's also a nice, coin-activated billiards table with cues! Just a note that sometimes gets stuck and the billiard balls don't get released properly, so you'll have to get help from the bartender.
This is a grear student pub for graduate students. Beer is cheap. The gsu blonde lager is under $14 for a pitcher which is a fantastic deal. Free pool too!
It's not the cheapest or the best, and it's sort of annoyingly loud because of thr acoustics, but it is a pub and you will feel you are amoung grad students, so you can't really complain too much.
An underated campus gem, GSU has cheap beer and nice cozy atmosphere and even a patio during the summer. Its not going to blow you away, but it's exactly what UofT needs to have on campus.
