Greta is a pretty awesome bar. It has a great design with the big bar in the centre of the room, surrounded by games. There's a cool food truck built into the wall where the kitchen is to make the food. There is minimal seating so booking ahead is vital. The star drinks were: Van City Reynolds made with Ryan Reynolds gin and the Flying Crane with sake in it! We also enjoyed the food with the highlights being the bao buns and street nuggets.
Found this amazing Arcade bar in Gas town last week. Went there with couple of friends. It was a cool experience. They have varieties of arcade games, DJ, fast food style counter and bar. This is really good setup. We had a great time and would recommend this place.
The Greta bar is something which mixes every kid at hearts dream. An arcade, drinks and good food. The atmosphere is that of a really chilled vibe. After having a good meal , the arcade definitely calls you to burn some of the calories. I had the spicy peanut noodles, side note, this comes with tofu, so if you add another side it will be in addition to this. It was good but not spicy enough to my taste. The burgers however looked amazing !
Wonderful staff - shoutout to Eric and Brendan I hope I got that right!!. What an absolutely cool arcade bar that overtook the old Bourbon space. I can see it being busy we went on Monday and there were tables reserved and believe they offer family hours where kids can come by too please check their website!. You can play some neat games - Mario kart and basketball were my favourites - and enjoy some yummy dishes and drinks with friends. Fun hang out space with aesthetic decor. Love the washrooms where they tell you green for vacant and red for occupied and they are all gendered which is a nice touch! Accessibility wise there are stairs leading to the bathroom and to the second bar which may pose an issue.
Went here for my birthday and had a great time. The selection of games are pretty good overall. Made a reservation in advance to make sure we could all have a table and that worked well. It gets busy and more of a club vibe later in the evening. The music was fun and loud, encouraging everyone to dance but we couldn't see any designated space. I think that's the only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5. With a retro video game dance floor somewhere we probably would have stayed till close. Oh and the other thing I didn't like was that I couldn't play guitar hero when the music was so loud in the evening. I wish that the arcade cabinet was set up in a quieter space so that it was easier to hear.
It’s been a rough day? Need a place to hang with friends? Looking for a place to bring a girl of your dreams on a date? This place is for you! The bartenders are nice and awesome. Mine was fantastic even after I closed out my tab. She still kept serving me water and talked to me. The drinks are nice and average priced for the Vancouver area. I had the Van city Reynolds & The Flying Crane recommended by the bartender. Definitely worth it.
My first time there was before things got crazy. We were greeted by Marisol, who's as cute as buttons with a gorgeous smile that melts hearts. She answered our questions and made us feel welcome and taken care of. The food quantity left a lot to be desired especially for the price, but the drink and game specials are great and we left feeling happy and moderately satisfied. Michael, the brown bouncer, even asked us how our night went as we left to go home. It left us feeling valued overall. However, my second time there on the same day of the week was terrible! I took a date there after scoping out the place the first time around. Had a stocky Asian bouncer walk back and bump into me, spilling our newly bought beers over us, then he turns around to look at us, acknowledging but saying nothing, and proceeds to walk away. What a jerk! For the sake of not getting kicked out, we were afraid to say anything. Then toward the end of the night, a tall white guy with gray hair, who looked like the floor manager rudely says to my date and I, "you guys need to get out/leave now" and proceeds to kick everyone out in a very uncouth manner. Clearly, hospitality training was never in the manual. You hired a bunch of class acts to be your security staff, with an equally unfriendly manager? We still had a lot of fun drinking and playing games, but the service that night was atrocious! We probably won't be coming back nearly as often as we had planned to anymore -- that goes for my guests too. The concept of this place is great but the execution needs work.
It’s a fun place to hangout even on a weekday. The servant was very helpful and friendly. The food was delicious too fish taco, nuggets, poutine My tip is watch others play before you because some games are just confusing
We went during their first week being open, and it's safe to say all the staff were very well trained and ready to go. The customer service was excellent and made the experience more fun! All of the staff were very lively and just dancing around. They offered us each a complimentary gaming card and free coat check, so that was a nice lil bonus. This is a great spot that you can hangout at for hours to eat, drink, play arcade games, take photo booth pics and dance! Love it!
This place was SOO fun! Great arcade games, nice staff and the atmosphere is super laid back and chill. I’d recommend this to anyone going to Vancouver!
