I wanted so badly to love this place, the way the vast majority of the other reviewers do. Alas, Greco Fitness and I just never managed to "click", and I can't quite put my finger on why. Having completed the one month trial last spring, I committed to a year's worth of unlimited classes at what I consider to be a very reasonable rate. At that time, I was looking for a well-priced option with a schedule that worked with mine. In fairness to Greco, shortly after I signed on, my role at work changed considerably and I found myself out of the city quite often. Balancing all the travel with a young child in daycare made it difficult to get to Greco, especially with their rather limited schedule. The 5:15PM class tended to be too early for me to leave the office on time, and the 7:15PM class was not late enough to get dinner on the table and head back out again. And the morning timeslots on the weekend fall right in the midst of prime toddler activity time. By 9:00AM on any given Saturday when the first class starts, I will literally have been up for hours, and prefer to have my workout done by that time so that I can get on with my day. That said, if I LOVED Greco, I would have found a way to make it more regularly than I did over the year in which I was a member. The concept is good, it's a quick in-and-out 45 min and the class format remains consistent so you always have a general sense of what you are getting yourself into. That said, even though the circuit changes every single time I never did the same workout twice, I admittedly found it kind of boring. This may be because I am a bit of a cardio junkie, and need more of it than Greco offers to feel as though I've gotten in a good workout. Long story short, Greco Fitness is good for what is, falling somewhere between "big box gym" and the higher end fitness studios. Rates are reasonable, the instructors are good, and the front desk staff are welcoming and friendly. Hence the four stars. I just don't think that the place is a "fit" for me.
Greco is awesome! Great workout, friendly instructors and the perfect amount of motivation. They encourage you to push yourself but also accommodate for injuries/your personal fitness goals. Overall, really good vibe and I would highly recommend a visit.
I love love love Greco. The classes push you to get the most out of your workout and the staff are extremely knowledgable and helpful. With the help of the amazing Amber Bland the best instructor at Greco! I've really improved my form and pushed past my personal bests to achieve great results. Highly recommend hitting up her Greco Strong classes Tues and Thurs!
Such a great studio! I've been attending Greco for just under a month and am really enjoying the hiit style classes. I started with their two week promo offer which is a great deal/price and loved it so much I purchased additional classes. I decided to try them out as I was looking for a new place to replace my old studio that moved locations I was so sad when this happened and honestly didn't know if I would find a place at the same level. I have definitely found what I was looking for in Greco. The Lean & Fit classes provide a challenging but fun workout. They offer a good mix of cardio and weights, with some additional challenges incorporated between each round and/or at the end of the class. For anyone interested in hiit style classes, these will offer a tough, sweaty but overall amazing workout. I always walk away feeling I was challenged and am always satisfied with the different exercises in each class these always vary which offers a greater challenge to your mind and body. The main instructor, Jesse, is very encouraging, friendly and pushes each person to work harder depending on each person's fitness level. You can tell he cares about the quality and style of workout which makes it more motivating to be there. The front staff and owners are incredibly nice also. They make it a very welcoming environment, especially for new members. All the other members I've met to date have been very friendly and pleasant. It's really wonderful to see the start of a community develop and I feel that Greco will continue to grow in numbers and popularity. The studio is always clean; the main workout room is always organized and offers a variety of equipment/weights; the women's washroom is nice offering showers, lockers and hair ties should you forget these; the class sizes are reasonable and not overcrowded. You can also have your post workout smoothie prepared for you by the end of class which is super convenient and appreciated. Overall this is a great place to workout. I love feeling enthusiastic about a new fitness space and hope to see them do well in Toronto. Definitely worth checking out and experiencing first hand ;-
Really friendly staff and a welcoming environment. Classes are tough, but fun - great for beginners like myself, or people who have been training for years. Have found Tyler, Jonah and Nem to be incredibly helpful and supportive - highly recommended. Haven't had a chance to go to a class with amber yet, but she's super friendly. Yummy shakes too :
I started going to Greco off a Groupon a little under a year ago, and am completely addicted. There's enough variety to go multiple times a week, and they rarely repeat exercises. I love the staff, from the front desk to the trainers. They learn your name within a few visits, somehow, yet give you space and time to do your own thing and are available for questions. Unlike most studios, you don't need to be mindful of what time/day you're going and can go any time, because all the instructors Alex, Tyler, Jonah, Amber, Nem at time of writing are equally strong no pun intended ;P in different ways. That said, favourite classes are Strong Mondays and Thursdays and Hardcore. Recommend Alex's Lean & Fit, Nem's Hardcore and Amber or Tyler for Strong if you're doing a free trial and looking to get a good mix. Try the Nuttin Butter shake with protein if you're so inclined. They also have smoothie cards if you're planning on buying often, where your 10th is free.
Greco is such an excellent workout facility, especially the variation in their workouts. All the staff are lovely and helpful. The fitness level can be intimidating but it soon becomes easier while still really challenging you.
Greco is amazing! Amber Bland is by far the BEST trainer I've ever come across! She is great at correcting form and her energy is so motivating!! I wouldn't go to Greco if it wasn't for Amber! Please have Amber teach more morning classes!!!
Always have a great workout. Great facilities - clean, modern, spacious, showers! Trainers are great very interactive, care about your form, not getting hurt. Community is great. Always challenging. Good sweat. Good sore the next day ;-
***Warning*** Don't conduct business with Greco Fitness as a customer or supplier - Greco refuses to pay invoices for services provided and simply ignores all attempts to contact them. You should avoid signing up with them as they will probably make it very hard to quit after you realize how shady they are.
