Grandma's Kitchen

I have been going to this restaurant for the past months while getting treated at the hospital. The food is perfect and the restaurant is clean. Tell the waitresses what you can and can’t eat and they would follow the instructions. Workers will go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you asked for. People at this place made feel welcomed. Everyone was so nice and respectful. The owner of the place is always there making sure that you have an excellent experience. I came to this city not knowing anyone and I am leaving with pleasant memories and so many friends. Sudati, Alson, Susan, Sylvia, and Sue, I will miss you.

Visited Grandma's several times while in Rochester. This is the place for good home cooked food. You can't go wrong with the special of the day or the steak and eggs and the grill liver and onions was just some of my meals while there.

Grandma’s kitchen has been in Rochester as long as I can remember, and there’s a reason for that…well, a couple of reasons actually…sure, a consistently friendly staff is one of them, but let’s face it, it all comes down to the FOOD right? Absolutely…Going out to dinner these days can be quite expensive, especially to take the whole family out, but Grandma’s is very reasonable, and there is something for everyone…Also a great place for a home cooked breakfast, Grandma’s won’t disappoint…I crave the comfort foods when the weather turns cold, and my favorites are the hot beef and hot turkey sandwiches w/mashed potatoes and gravy…add a large glass of cold milk and you will leave happy and VERY full! So grab your jacket and I’ll see ya there!!

Delicious!! Old town atmosphere in this older building. This place reminds me more of a small town cafe with the great food and nice ambiance. Highly recommend.

We sat at the counter and we had super friendly and fast service from Mary J. Hot fresh food. Classic small town diner. Only six minutes from Mayo, so it was the perfect breakfast place before heading to Mayo. One unexpected perk: you can pay the bill with QR code and your phone.

Whenever we go to Rochester, this is where we eat. Old school, small town Cafe vibe. Definitely not fancy, but the food is terrific. Very reasonable prices, realistic wait time for food, and the wait staff is very friendly. I also like that they have a great respect for our veterans, which shows all through the place. I encourage you to check it out!

Local diner with a small town feel since 1977. No frills, dated interior offers a lunch counter, tables on one side and a narrow run of booths on the other. One wall commemorates the lives of Korean War veterans and other such memorabilia. Susan, waitress of 41 years, made our dining out an even more enjoyable experience. My Grandma's Club Sandwich came with crisp bacon, thick ham, chunky, sliced turkey, fresh lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise served on toasted whole wheat. My wife’s chicken melt came with a grilled chicken breast with melted cheddar, tomato, lettuce on a toasted bun. Pickles, mayo/ranch and thin French fries on the side. A large menu offers made from scratch, home cooking for breakfast, lunch and supper. Plenty of pie options, sweets and ice cream treats.

I ate lunch at this local restaurant in Rochester based on other reviews. I loved the old fashioned home feel. The food reminded me of home cooking of local restaurants from my childhood. I had the turkey dinner, white bean ham soup and carmel apple homemade pie. All the food was delicious. Sue, my waitress, was phenomenal— not only with recommendations but with service as well. The prices are very reasonable. I will be back. Really enjoyed my food and experiences. I highly recommend! Parking: Local Peking available.
