When you want soul food, this the right place! Everything was nice and hot! I especially loved the mural. Per EverettHerald. Net-“The mural was completed during an event called Grill and Chill, where about 60 graffiti artists from around the U.S. visited Everett for a few days in the summer. It was co-hosted by Jason Grim, owner of Everett’s JAG ArtWorks, and a graffiti group called Graffaholeks Northwest. The event was held in conjunction with “American Graffiti: From the Streets to Canvas” at the Schack Art Center in Everett. “American Graffiti” was a groundbreaking exhibit that explored how graffiti as an art form has shaped self-expression in the United States.- for educational purposes, this article is listed in the The Everett Herald newspaper. And today, August 23, 2022, it’s been reported by The New York Times that “Ex-Detective Admits Misleading Judge Who Approved Breonna Taylor Raid. Thank you DOJ! A minor relief for the family, a long time coming since March 2020’s raid at Breonna Taylor’s home.
This place has the goods! Variety that was not expected, so many choices to mix and match. Delicious. Friendly. And they make their own desserts. They have their spices down! Fries are spot on ribs mmmm. And options for vegetarians, gluten free stuff that I did not try but it is not just for meat eaters. The cornbread was most excellent. You will be full. Portions were not wimpy. These folks are doing a great service for their community.
Beans, greens, potatoes...... You know the song. If you want southern food in any variety, treat yo self and come here. They actually have a sampler plate where you can pick what you want plus a menu to order from. And so many desserts it's hard to choose so pick a few and try them. They're was not one thing that was disappointing. Support this black owned and operated business. They are so sweet. It's also a good value for the amount you get, which is hard to find in the PNW. We'll be back for sure!!!
Update: I finally got to try their food! I wish I hadn't. I wish I could take more stars away. I ordered a chicken strip basket and a side of Mac and cheese. The mac and cheese didn't show up with my order, so I didn't even get to try that. The chicken strips were like chicken claws. Tiny, dry, gnarled... I obviously got the very end of a bag of frozen strips. The fries were a little cold but it was delivery so that's fine, otherwise they were nothing special. The one positive thing I will say is that the coleslaw is awesome. It's got just a little heat to it and it was really something special. Unfortunately, a tiny 4oz container of good slaw doesn't make up any points for two canceled orders and then missing items and really bad quality food. All around really very disappointing. Avoid this if you can and go to Pac South in Marysville instead. It should also be noted that this restaurant goes by many different names. Grandma's in Da Kitchen, Deviled Soul Food, and Big Mama's Southern Table are all the same place and have the same address. I just ordered from a different name and didn't realize it's the same place... Hopefully it's better than what I got yesterday. This seems like misleading customers, I'm surprised Doordash allows this - if they even know. ------------------------------------------------------ I cannot order food because every time I try my order is canceled because the delivery driver gets there and they're closed. Please fix your open hours on the delivery apps so that people aren't constantly disappointed when they wait a half hour or more for food that looks great only to find out that nothing is coming because you're closed again. Two days in a row now my Doordash order has been canceled. This isn't a good way to treat customers who are interested in trying your food.
This very legit southern comfort food restaurant serves up flavorful eats by friendly staff. The sandwiches are big on great bread and pack lots of spice and heat but not too much! The green beans are great as are the baked beans. The strawberry pie is absolutely amazing and must have. It's a perfect balance of sweet and richness with fresh strawberry flavor on a homemade crust. Prices are fair and parking gets tight when they're busy.
I ordered on Uber and the pictures were very inaccurate. The chicken was not bad but one of the sides was wrong and the other was pretty bland. The cloud cake was small and the punch tasted like cool aid. The name in the app was different than the location name for some reason too, seems weird to do for any legitimate reason. The quality was definitely not worth the price over all. Not trying to be spiteful but this was a disappointing experience.
Best southern food ever!! Family owned/operated and a friendly Atmosphere. You can tell by the taste of the food that they love what they do! Way to throw down Gma and fam!! We will be back the next time we drive through the Seattle area!Food: 5/5
I ordered online, and they lost my order. I waited in the restaurant for 1 hr for our food for our office. The food was mediocre. Not worth the hassle. Very odd environment in the restaurant. Has potential to be better if they fixed up the place, streamlined their ordering process and improved their food.
This is literally the most unorganized restaurant I've ever been to. No one seems to know what's going on or where anyone's order is. Poor communication. One guy was supposed to be making my sandwich the lady said, and I saw him smoking out front and shooting the breeze with another guy for 20 min. These people are def on island time. Food is inconsistent. Some days it's magnificent, some days it's worse than KFC. I have had many canceled orders via uber and I finally found out why when I had to pick up an order there myself. They're slow. One driver had been waiting 45 min and he finally just had to go. Poor service. Poor management. We're not in Kansas anymore todo. I don't care how authentic your food is. People got stuff to do. I especially feel bad for the drivers. What a waste of time for someone who works at uber.
Long wait after order. Ordered philly beef, and bun was dry. Definitely not a fresh sandwich. Price listed was $14... And bill was $23... Nothing extra. Can't say I was impressed.
