Grand Royale Hotel

If I could give 0 stars and leave a review, I would. This place was disgusting. I saw mold in a few places in the bathroom, the toilet was dirty from prior use and wasn't cleaned prior to my check in, the bathtub was also dirty, the suite had an old rug smell throughout, I mentioned my concerns to the staff at the counter and he appeared expressionless but said he would send up housekeeping to clean. When housekeeping came up, they didn't have any cleaning supplies, they simply asked "what's the problem?". I then pointed every concern, which I believed would be obvious to members of a cleaning staff. They then took some tissue off the toilet roll and wipe some of the filth from surfaces and then said "see, now it's gone" The didn't use cleaning supplies, they literally wiped filth from a surface with a piece of tissue and considered that "enough". I was beside myself and just refused to sleep in a mattress where the standard of cleaning is that low. Since it was clear the room was cleaned prior to my arrival, I refused to sleep in a bed that, for all I know, was slept in by prior guests and never changed or cleaned. This place was the worst. This place should be inspected by health inspectors and shut down until fixed. By the way, there was mold in the bathroom, that is just gross, unsanitary and they owners need to take a hard look at their business strategy if they want to make the grand royal a success.

Besides the beautiful facade of the building and location to everything, there is little redeeming value. Beds were lumpy and one bed frame was so broken everything lent to one side. Shoddy​ craftsmanship everywhere. Barely kept up to any sort of standard. Not to mention the whole lobby and elevator smells like a hamster cage. Even the morning coffee, is more like brown hot water. If you're past your college years, do yourself a favor and go to a real hotel. Whatever profit they're making is clearly not being reinvested.

First we were given a room that someone else was already staying in. Once we got a new room, we noticed the following: Minimal hot water in sink. Hot/cold switched in sink. Door lock broken. Blood stains on sheets. 2nd key not working. Wallpaper peeling. The list goes on. Seriously just don't stay here. Pay the extra cash for something better.

Randomly had to stay in Binghamton and picked this place based on the building. My wife and I checked in using Expedia and upon arrival to the hotel the manager upgraded our room to a suite. Room 608 was awesome. We had a very good time there. The room was clean, the sheets smelled very fresh, the jacuzzi tub was unexpected but a very nice experience, the bathroom was clean and upon morning realized we had an amazing view through the atrium. Some of the hotel styling was dated (very 70's) but still very nice. The manager had no problem letting us park a pickup truck with a tow dolly attached in the parking lot. I can't speak about the free breakfast since we ended up leaving rather late in the morning. Very conveniently located to a few nice restaurants. I will definitely be staying there again when we visit family up there.

This place is a nightmare! Please avoid this place if you respect yourself a bit. Disgusting and dirty everywhere. Sheets are dirty and hair everywhere from previous people who stayed here. As soon as I lay down on the bed about 10-15 bedbugs started to crawl towards me, and it was still a day time. After napping for 20 minutes now I have more than 30 bedbug bites that’s crazy itching. And also dozens of cockroaches I saw already. Even though I didn’t turned off the lights at all.
