DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Binghamton

We were in town for the high school basketball playoffs. When our team won on Friday, I had to book a second night for the final game Saturday night. The hotel was pretty full but the woman I wish I caught her name at the front desk was able to get me that second night and we were able to stay in the same room. The pool was great. Breakfast was really good. Rooms were nice. Comfortable beds. The location is close to the arena, bars and restaurants.nnThe only negatives? One elevator was out of service and we heard it has been like this for the last year. Long lines and slow getting to our room. We used the service elevator but at times it was just as busy. It would have been nice if there were more convenient outlets and USB ports for charging devices in the room. The parking was challenging as well because of the events going on there.

The hotel is a nice place even though its old. The rooms however are starting to show its age. The hallway had strange odors coming from some rooms but it wasn't too bad in mine. Rooms had chipped tiles and stained furniture. The staff were pleasant and the lobby was nice.

Although the place was hard to find, The service at first was fantastic I did have a little trouble with the room service but it was rectified after some discussion, It was a bit annoying, I ordered a meal they told me to order it within 15 minutes which I did they said that they didn't receive it I know I sent it to the correct phone number they said they didn't get it and then all of a sudden they said they would make me the food It was silly which I complained I received my food anyway The food was delicious and I was satisfied no complaint really necessary except to say why it had to happen was beyond me.. It was the runaround that was irritating. I had to talk to three people in order to get things resolved. The room was phenomenal I loved walking around the area although parking in the back parking lot is kind of weird sometimes I didn't feel that it was totally secure there were people walking in the back lot. Make sure to bring your luggage inside .. I definitely would stay again It was worth the money the comfort was great I did feel secure enough to walk around at night, But I don't know whether leaving your vehicle with copious amounts of stuff inside may be a good idea, as I had, I was moving temporarily. I really wish they had a security guard for the parking garage.

The rooms had obviously had a very cheap reno done at some point very typical of any Hilton brand. The enamel was peeling in the shower because they cheaply refinished it. They attempted to hide it with a disgusting non slip mat. The bathroom was also very dark. The carpet was worn. This was true in two different rooms I stayed in.nnThe TVs had streaming apps so I did appreciate that.nnThe lobby and restaurant were nice. My company holiday partynwas held there and all of the staff were amazing. Everyone was kind.nnHowever, I could not recommend this place due to how worn down the rooms are. If this qualifies as a 4 star hotel, we should reevaluate how we rate hotels.

Great location. Room was nice. Front desk people were good. Pool and spa was Great until the next morning an older man was throwing liquid chemical in the spa just missing my GF. We complained to Both Gym staff and hotel staff and were told sorry they don’t work for us. Asked for call from Gym manager and Hotel Manager and never received. This was several times. If you get breakfast get the buffet, side orders came out with hard eggs and burnt toast. We really liked the hotel minus the issues
