Laziest staff ever. They’ll bring your food without napkins and they have bins to self bus your table. This place used to be amazing years ago and before you had to prepay. Now they give the bare minimum service because they expect not to get tipped: yet it pops up on the screen for a tip option. Even the beers are pricy! Felicitas is just around the corner if you want affordable!
1, There is no concept of first come, first serve. People who ordered after me had already finished eating and left, and then they started making mine. 2, The burger is cold. The beef and the fries are burned—inexperienced chef. 3, I don't want to give a single star, but the system must give at least one star by default. 4, I suggest everyone avoid this place. I will not come to this place again forever.
Hands down my favorite spot on campus and my goto Victoria pub. I love the friendly atmosphere. Great beer, wonderful food, grad student friendly prices, and great service. They also have plenty of community events and tasty specials that are just icing on the cake.Food: 5/5
The Grad House used to be a great place to enjoy a reliably good meal. The last couple of times I’ve eaten here most recently, today the food has been disappointing though still reasonably priced.
Fast service, great food. Really nice and cozy vibe.
The Grad Lounge is open to everyone, not just graduate students. It's a great place on campus, for sharing a drink with friends. They offer outdoor seating on a patio and the indoor space is large and comfortable. I have found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. When they renovated a few years ago, they got rid of their large television and pool table. I think that they should have at least, kept the pool table. As far as their food is concerned, I can only attest to the quality of their burger and fries. Both were excessively greasy, and not to be recommended. Since the renovation, the price of their food went way up, and it seems that the quality went way down. It's particularly unfortunate for the university's students.
Food is super cheap, but amazing and home made. Tons of awesome vegan options. They have deals through out the week such such as wine and pasta, and burger and beer for $10. It does get busy at dinner time which, obviously, affects speed of service, but the servers are always great. ***edit: after the renovation proves increased a lot and the menu is way smaller. Way less vegan options
Best place on campus or nearby to chill out with some beers. I haven't really there so I can't say much about the food aside from that the yam fries are good but the atmosphere is great. They have a good selection and rotate taps regularly. Lots of veggie options on the menu as well.
The food is pretty standard pub fare and never disappoints. The drinks are... worth the price of admission despite being a little pricey. Generally pretty easy to grab a table and it's much less noisy than Felicitas, which is a plus if you actually want to talk with whoever you came with. The service is prompt and polite and the rating will increase to five stars when they start using portofino buns for their sandwiches.
Medium sized venue catering to UVic's students and staff, but welcoming all. Menu is basic but with variety. Lots of vegan and gluten free options. Pricing is fair for what you get, though some of the drinks seem a bit pricey. Very basic atmosphere, the highlight of which is a menu filled with scholastic puns. I enjoyed the Grad Thai.
