Dropped by for a quick bite at noon on a Saturday. We got seated immediately. Almost immediately it became apparent that the Niche could become a recurring habit. It featured many of our local food favourites that we have come to enjoy. Meats from Haus Sausage. Bread from Working Culture. Maiiz products, Island Eko Pantry, Fernwood coffee including a new to us Coffee Cream Soda. Niche also make a fermented Habernos hot sauce in house that has a pretty potent kick. Glad to see how they are supporting our local suppliers. Food well done!
Fresh ingredients and superb quality. Recommend the tuna and octopus salad. Definitely a great spot for a date or small outing with friends. Looking forward to the patio this summer!
I tell everyone who stands outside considering the menus that the tacos are amazing I’m addicted!. But honestly everything tastes amazing at this awesome addition to our neighborhood. From the staff’s constantly friendly service attitude to their wide selection of everything locally sourced, you can’t go wrong. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant as they truly understand the golden triangle of great service, great value, and great taste.
Amazing service. Such a lovely patio! And the best grilled cheese I have EVER had in my whole life!
We’ve been meaning to pop into this restaurant for a while, today was the day! So glad we did! The food was incredible and full of flavour which is a must for a European! The staff were very attentive and our meals arrived quickly. Our baby girl enjoyed sharing our food, which she was able to do in a high chair not many places in Victoria have high chairs so this was very refreshing : We got some food to take away! So pleasing to have some authentic French cheese! And the macarons were the best I’ve ever ever had! Including when I’m in France Thank you, would recommend 100% Kid-friendliness: High chair!
Having enjoyed lunch in the restaurant, we thought we would try the take home Mediterranean Chicken from the freezer. Rubbery, undercooked chicken thighs, artichoke hearts not the eggplant on the label and the $30 price tag left us disappointed and hungry. The olives were the only good thing about the meal, though they made up the bulk of it. No potatoes or pasta to round out a full meal. Compared to Refire's $27 Chicken Tetrazzini lots of lean breast meat, enough food for four meals and good taste- well there is no comparison! The Pagliacci's focaccia bread proved to be greasy and tasteless. Our desire to spend money at a neighbourhood eatery has fled.
Fresh, locally sourced food, deliciously and creatively prepared. Excellent service by an owner who really knew her stuff. Reasonably priced. Atmosphere was not glamorous but scrupulously clean. Very easy parking. Parking: Broadmead Village.
Great to see local brands here! Great staff and lovely food. Excited to see they carry The Very Good Butchers products, would love to see the whole line! Keep up the good work!
The owner provided warm, friendly, knowledgeable service and the food was fantastically amazing. Tuna tacos were killer. Dill pickle butter with fresh bread was a delicious surprise. Don’t miss the chocolate brownie for dessert.
What a great place to stop by and have some good bites . Local fresh products and delicious wine menu are so inviting. I can't wait to go back and try few other things that this little place has to offer. We enjoyed pork tacos and octopus plate . It was delicious, bursting with flavor and paired well with a nice glass of cold white wine.
