Story

STATEMENT OF DIVERSITY

The West End is a mosaic. We are children, youth, adults, and seniors of all races, religions, cultures, abilities, and economic levels. We speak many languages. We are womyn and men of all sexual orientations. We value diversity. We endeavor to reflect the diversity of our Neighbourhoods in membership, our Boards of Management, our volunteers and our staff. We respect all our neighbours. We expect that all who come to our Houses, all those who provide or receive our servieces, will extend the same respect to all those they meet here. Therefore, we will act to promote the inclusion of all in our association and in our communtiy.

Mission

Our mission is to make the West End a better neighbourhood in which to live and grow. Our goal is to strengthen our community through voluntary activity. When we as neighbours identify issues which voluntary action alone cannot address, Gordon Neighbourhood House may offer support and help to secure necessary additional resources. Our challenge is to remain sensitive to the ever changing needs of the diverse groups of people who live in our neighbourhood, and to respond with innovative and effective programs and services.
