Beautifully maintained campground, no gas powered motors in the lake keeps things quiet. The sites are very decently sized, I would recommend the upper loop if you want more privacy. Nice walking trails all around and it is super close to nordegg if you need to grab a couple groceries, general items or even wash your clothes. Will definitely be back. We came here for Canada day weekend as every where else was booked and this is a first come first serve site.
Scored a campsite on the September long weekend. Great place to camp and Kayak. Washrooms were super clean The day use area should be closed once the campground is full. It's too small of a lake for all of the extra people and they end up useing the boat launch as a beach.
Super clean out houses. We scored a great site for our large trailer. A16 had a view to the lake as well as our own private path. Kids caught a ton of fish. Went for great hiking adventures.
Beautiful campground and well maintained. B loop has lots of space between sites. Only complaint is that firewood is expensive and very green.
Stayed in the lower loop. Well maintained, clean campground. Goldeye lake is a small, clean lake with good fishing opportunities and a good dock to fish from. Pads are large enough for the average rv or a couple tents. The lower loop campsites are closer together but closer to the water, the upper loop are more private with more space between each sites. Drinking water was not potable, but potable water was available at Fish Lake, a short drive. Only complaint is the weekend we stayed, the large rv's ran their generators most mornings for a couple hours wrecking the solitude of the mountains.
Little gem of a campground. Gorgeous small lake and adorable campsites. The fishing was fun and we loved the walk around the lake.
2 years ago fire wood was included in the price of camping. Now 10 dollars for 12 sticks that burn for 15 minutes. The goverment subsidies this company to supply firewood and now charges steep pricing. The grounds themselves are amazing but its getting too expensive
The campsite was beautiful and quiet went swimming and caught some rainbow trout so breathtaking the mountains are beautiful
The camp ground is lovely! I have stayed here several times over the last 10 or more years. Very well treed and private sites, tends to fill up quickly. This is the first year they started charging for firewood, so we were unprepared, and it was only possible to purchase between 5-6 pm, meaning that we were unable to get any firewood the first night. The price is high and the lack of including firewood was very unfortunate. May not stay here anymore.
Just rustic enough for an authentic camping experience, yet close to Nordegg. There are random sites with water and power, look carefully! Also, great little lake and e-only boat launch. The kids had a blast on the floating dock. On caveat, the loop roads are poorly maintained, make sure your rig has enough clearance for some seriously deep potholes!
