Golden Joy Hakka Restaurant

I had the chili chicken lunch special and it was made fresh, tasty, and spicy. Good value as it came with a pop. Service was quick and prompt. I haven’t tried any of their other items on the menu

We went in because reviews were good. We walked out wondering how this place is still open. Hot n sour Soup was white and bland; tasteless and even adding soy sauce and chilli vinegar did not do anything. The beef chilli dry was decent, could have been better. We asked for water and she put two glasses in front of us. I don’t have any words but really disappointed in service, the look & feel of the place and food is not that good either.

Very helpful and friendly staff, the receptionist helped me order some great items especially the Spices & Pepper Shrimp Dry which was very tasty along with the chilli chicken. Once again i appreciated the smiles and the great customer service, this is definitely my new local Hakka joint. FYI came to this spot based on their reviews.

I order chili chicken today after seeing many good reviews but I don't like it much. .I ask the girl to put extra gravy and make it spicy even the soup and fried rice I order wasn't exceed my expectations. The food was tasteless. I wish the owner upon checking my review will resolve the issue by offering me something unless I will never ever order from them.

I like this restaurant. If you want to have a taste of Indian Chinese you must try this restaurant. I ordered chill chicken and bombay chicken both the dishes were amazing. The chicken fried rice was also too. The noodles lacked a little bit of taste. Their manchurian sauce was also delicious.I had also ordered egg roll but we got veg spring roll instead that was little disappointing. The quantity is good enough for the price. The only thing I don’t like is their packaging. They do not have microwave safe containers so it becomes difficult to heat food.

Amazing food, I had the General Tao and noodles yummmmmmmmmmmmmy. I love the service, I just eat here for my first time and I'll Def be back and bring others with me. I hope both of you ladies have a great weekend. Congratulations on you 10years!

Golden Joy will top your list of favourite Hakka flavours no matter what. You can always expect the authentic Hakka touch and consistency, as this establishment is O/O by a Hakka Family. Also, they provide you the ability to tweak your order for i.e less salt, less oil etc... They offer a affordable menu with great service that is always the best and never rushed. A lunch special is offered until 3PM which turns into a dinner special when ordered after 3pm.

Ordered lunch specials picture 1 chilli chicken with fried rice & egg. Picture 2 Manchurian vegatable balls with fried rice no egg. Quantity for lunch special was great and quality of food was steaming hot made fresh! Prices are reasonable as well. I'd pay them a visit again.

Amazing food experience.This restaurant has one of the best hakka style food which reminds me CalcuttaIndia hakka style food.We ordered hakka styled mixed noodles and fried rice ,chilli fish ,chicken Pakora,shrimp manchurian and sweet corn chicken soup and everything was finger -licking good! Must visit and highly recommended!

I'm not sure why this restaurant has such high reviews as I find the food to be mediocre and full of MSG. I've had Hakka at many places across the GTA, and this place wasn't anything special as advertised by Blog-TO. We got the chili chicken, masala chicken, Manchurian chicken fried rice, and Mapo Tofu. The Mapo Tofu looked more like vegetable and Tofu pieces, not spicy, and swimming in potato starch. Is this how Hakka people make Mapo Tofu? I assumed it would be more like the Chinese way... The chili and masala chicken were the same taste, just different colours, yellow and red. We got them because Blog-TO specifically mentioned them, but it was pretty disappointing. The Manchurian rice had no taste at all, but was red and a nice colour. We ate most of the food as we don't like to waste, but unfortunately, we won't be coming back. The portion sizes were great, which is why the review isn't 1 star.
