This is a great camp. Formerly a Scout camp, now owned by the county and operated by the Friends of Glen Gray, it's in great shape with a variety of camping facilities available. Adjacent to superb hiking in the Ramapo Mountains. Open to all. You will need to carry your gear to your site. Pack accordingly, or pay the modest portage fee.

Former Boy Scout camp now under county auspices, green acre funds, and administered by very loyal Friends of Glen Gray. Very historic. George Washington hauled cannon ammunition along the Cannonball trail, still marked for historic hikes. Good sized lake multiple cabins and space for tent camping. Be careful driving in and out as road about 1 1/2 lanes wide. Been there many times over the years.

I can't begin to explain how infuriated I am with the level of discrimination I have received from the camps Administrative Manager, Nancy Garelick. I put in a reservation request and got an email back that automatically said "Sorry, no parties permitted at camp" and there was no mention of a party in the reservation request. I can't believe that the request was judged on the fact that the group name was "Alyssa's Birthday." I then noticed I was completely OVER PRICED on the rental, the price online was $95 per weekend and Nancy wanted to charge me $160 for the weekend and $160 security deposit for any damages. I didn't pay any mind to the price because it is in fact a holiday weekend and I figured that was the reason for the higher price. After the reservation was made I took a better look at the camp map and noticed The Explorer cabin was closer to the bathrooms with running water and the lake and reached out to Nancy asking for a reservation switch to The Explorer cabin. Nancy responded back to me and told me the cabin was already booked for the weekend that I am visiting camp. I told my boyfriend about the cabin being already reserved and he took upon himself to put in another request for The Explorer cabin. Nancy emailed Michael back expressing to him that she reserved the cabin for him and that the payment for the cabin will be $120, the price that is posted on the website, and only $100 security deposit for and damages to the cabin.
