We had such a lovely experience for Valentine’s day. We requested a specific table by the window as this was where my boyfriend and I first met. Not only did the Lara one of the owners organize that for us, they then brought us out a bottle of champagne. So thoughtful, will be back often!
$14 for spinach dip. The size of the dip was quite small considering, but the most depressing part was the skimpy 12 pieces of chips... We asked if we could get more chips, got a handful more and charged another $1 for the top up.. matches to previous experiences there unfortunately. 3 stars because the servers are always very nice.
Terrible customer service. I asked to get a chair and the serves said "yes go ahead"... when I got to the table the owner came YELLING to me saying that table was not supposed to be there. I didn't move the table... it was already there. I used to go there with my friends. I tipped very well. The other lady came and said "he can say whatever he wants he is the owner". No... he can't say whatever he wants because: 1. I was extremely polite 2. He is the owner but not my owner 3. I never saw this bad service in Canada since I moved here in 2004. I have lived in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Don't go there. The new owner is a sad person... I feel sorry for him and his wife... I am so happy. But... I had to write a review so that other people don't go through the same situation. I hope that in the end... they get some training for customer service. We can always improve... even those old rude people.
We have already been here twice and have fallen in love with it. New Westminster needed this place where the views are great and it feels like being at home. They have been really thoughtful about creating a good menu and a comfortable place to unwind at after a long day. The bartender is awesome and knows his stuff. One of the owners actually sat with us yesterday and asked for our input which I have never had before in any pub or restaurant. The location is walkable for us and close to skytrain for our friends. So grateful this spot has opened up near us and I know this is going to become our go to place.
Accommodating hosts and great live entertainment. Karaoke and live performers different nights. Variety of food options. Beautiful vew.
Could be considered a hidden gem. Could become a perfect spot. Has the potential for being an awesome place for karaoke on Thursdays. But… service is awful and as rude as you can imagine. They should learn how to treat customers and not kicking them out as animals. To the blonde lady kicking people out at 12:10 AM on Thursdays: stop treating people like trash. If you want to close at 12:00 AM then update your information on Google and do not state that you close at 12:30 AM on Thursdays. Especially, when you do not even announce last call and still are serving patrons at almost midnight. Are you expecting people to “chug” a beer in 20 mins? Some of your customers are responsible and not mindless alcoholics, so stop being so condescending if you want to earn a good reputation and bring more people over. You are a relatively new business, so you instead of scaring people away and getting the fame of being a sketchy, cheap, tacky pub, you should get down to earth and be a bit more grateful and respectful of the kind of community that lives in New Westminster. New West can do well without a service like yours.
Hubby surprised me with a 50th birthday party and it was awesome. We had the room and part is the back section for our group. He had pre-arranged appys but everyone paid for their own food and drinks. They were organized with a numbering system to keep track of customers’ orders. Food was delicious and came fast. The chef had made some special mini donuts filled with a caramel like filling. It was sublime and I wish I had taken pictures of them. I would recommend Georgie’s Local for your next special work or private event. Ask for Jimmy and he and the staff will take great care of you.
The pulled pork Poutine is amazing, crispy fries even at the end, amazing flavors. The crispy chicken sandwich is equally amazing. The Sangria was also beyond delicious, 5 stars, will visit again!!!
.. Tuesday nights is a must go must see event .. ! An escape from the drudgery of everyday life and be dazzled and entertained by talented musicians with their songs and expertise .. the crowd is a WOW ..!! Everyone is in their best selves .! Kudos to the management and staff as usual they always do a good job ..! A smile is on one's face while exiting the premises .. !
A very positive experience. The owners seemed to really care about customers having a good time and experience. The bar staff were very friendly. The decor and views are lovely.
