About

Indoor Ice Hockey Arena

Story

Opened in October of 1961, George Bell Arena replaced the outdoor Ravina Rink and was named in honour of Toronto's Park Commissioner, George T. Bell. The arena was designed and built as a state of the art facility and once served as practice facility for game day skates of visiting NHL teams and the Toronto Maple Leafs and has seen hockey greats such as Gordie Howe on the ice.

George Bell Arena is home to the George Bell Hockey Association, Canadian Japanese Hockey League and former home to the Ryerson University Men's and Women's hockey teams.

The arena has hosted the Toronto Furies of the Canadian Women’s Hockey League as well as many special events such as charity tournaments, roller derby and even wrestling in the 60’s and 70’s.

George Bell Arena serves the communities of York, Swansea, Toronto Junction, High Park, and eastern Etobicoke.

Love watching the professionals girls play hockey there, and hockey school practice.
Toronto hockey history here... Don't tear down this place! Change rooms could use an expansion somehow, but otherwise still a very usable arena.
Nostalgic place to play, just missing Youngblood and the rest of the Mustangs.
Well maintained rink with decent seating for watching. Nice house league is run for kids.
Great place to skate! There's absoloutely nothing wrong with it!
GB is one of those old rinks with proper dressing rooms who's roof is built out of wood giving it character.
I love the arena. Single rink but full of history. It's great to see the kids involved in activities that teach them life skills.
Old rink, smaller ice surface, small dressing room. Very nostalgic feeling
Great place. Lot of parking.
