Awesome staff at Shelby location so no problem there. Now for the horrible. I purchased my boat through them and was required to have my boat "Documented, through the United States Coast Guard." Instead of a typical simple state title like everywhere else. First of all, the person I was required by Genisys to use charged almost 700$ on top of what I paid for the boat and still had to pay tax and registration fees on top of it. Well now it's coming time to sell the boat to purchase a new home very soon. I have never been in so much stress due to trying to sell something in my life as I have been with trying to sell a "Documented boat." There is so much I personally have to do pertaining to transferring the documentation or even deleting it. On top of that I have to spend 200$ JUST TO SELL THE BOAT because of having to document it in the first place. I am required to buy an abstract of title, get a uscg bill of sale, a Satisfaction/Release of lien statement, and file for deletion of documentation. This process takes over 2 weeks JUST TO PREPARE IT FOR SALE. Every documentation service I have spoken with to get advice says documenting a boat in Michigan is basically unnecessary. Also every potential buyer I have that I tell that my boat isn't titled and it's documented gets scared and turns away from buying it because they have no idea what it is. I am so infuriated by this. I don't think the higher ups at Genisys CU understand the amount of involvement and cost in owning and then trying to sell a documented boat and then there is no help available when needed when trying to sell a documented boat because no one knows what or how to.

The staff here is very knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and willing to get the job done. I took out my first automotive loan and the process was super streamlined. Once I gave them the information and paperwork needed they were able to get me approved and on the road in less than two weeks with reasonable APR and terms. The banking and auto-billing makes it so I'll never be late on a payment. Terrie and Kyle made sure everything was ready and I knew everything I needed to about my loan and loan process. They even communicated with my dealer and insurance company to make sure everything would get approved. Any time I need a hand, I know I can count on Genisys.
