Story

Inspired to bring the highest quality of furniture into the homes of Atlantic Canadians, the Ramia brothers opened the doors to Gallery1 in 1988. As the first of its kind, and more than just a furniture retailer, the brothers envisioned a space where beautiful furniture and decor would awaken design inspiration. The store featured staged vignettes where customers were encouraged to mingle among the furniture, explore the curated collections and discover stylish decor.

Gallery1 believes in quality craftsmanship, carrying many Canadian–made brands by designers such as Kimberly Seldon and Steven Chris. Gallery1 is continuously inspired by the arts, architecture, and culture surrounding us. Today, its product selection encompasses expertly created furniture from North America, Europe and Asia.

In 2010, Gallery1 was the first retailer in Atlantic Canada to be recognized with the prestigious, Furniture Retailer of the Year Award presented by the Canadian Home Furnishings Association. The award acknowledged Gallery1’s impact on the furniture industry in Atlantic Canada and their generous support of local charities including; Phoenix Youth and The Canadian Mental Health Association.
