The mission of the Gallatin Valley Food Bank is to improve food security throughout Southwest Montana
Skipping dinner, eating less, or eating less well. This is what thousands of people in Gallatin Valley face every day. The Gallatin Valley Food Bank is the critical link between food and the people who need it.
Food insecurity impacts people from all walks of life. We reach them all–from working families to senior citizens.
Who Qualifies?
We help Gallatin Valley residents in need of emergency food assistance. We can help you fill your shelves with pantry staples, your refrigerator with meats, dairy, and fresh produce.
Come by during our food assistance hours:
Monday-Friday: 1pm-4pm
Tuesdays: 1pm-4pm and 5pm-7pm
Please bring your identification and fill out a short intake form and then you will be given a shopping list based on your household size. You are allowed to use our services once every thirty (30) days.

The Food Bank offers the following programs:
EMERGENCY FOOD BOX PROGRAM
We offer a five day supply of food for those who are out of food and resources due to an emergency. The box size depends on the number of people in the household and the household’s cooking ability. Food Boxes are available from 1:00 pm- 4:00 pm, with extended hours from 5:00 pm- 7:00 pm.
BREAD AND PRODUCE ROOM Perishable food items are available on an ‘as received’ basis outside the Food Bank in our Bread and Produce Room between 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday and Tuesday nights until 7:00 pm
SENIOR GROCERY PROGRAM
We also have a supplemental service for Seniors called the Commodity Supplemental Food Program. This bag of groceries is delivered once a month and is meant to supplement the household’s grocery budget. We are currently providing for more than 350 seniors per month (an average of 34 pounds of food per month). Age and income limits apply. Call 586-7600 for questions.
