Fuwa Fuwa

Two words; Absolutely amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Starting with price, it’s around $13-$15 a plate, which is not outrageous, especially considering the portion. I was extremely full after finishing my plate, and it was worth every dollar. The pancakes are light and fluffy, and not very sweet which pairs well with the sweet toppings and fresh whipped cream. The location is amazing, surrounded by fun stores, and the interior of this place is very cute. The wait was not long, about 15 minutes for our tables 3 plates. Anyone who says the wait is “too long” has never been to an actual restaurant before. This isn’t fast food. They make it all fresh, even cutting the berries as needed. This place is an absolute banger, and I hope to visit again soon!

The service was as excellent as the food. Everyone was super friendly. The pancakes was light and was not heavy on the stomach. It tasted delicious. On top of that they also gave us 2 free samples of pudding before leaving. Both were equality yummy! I also want to mention and thank Julie personally. She was kind, friendly and very knowledgeable of the store and the food. I would definitely recommend coming here!

I would probably give this place 5 stars on a non peak time, but You are reviewed based of when I visit. So first off food was great, as good as I have had in Japan. Staff very friendly and happy when you can interact with them. Now the problems, we walked in at 12:20 Sunday no reservation not that it seemed to matter for speed of food. The nice lady at the counter said it would be 50 to 60 min for pancakes, but we did get a seat at a high top so we decided to stay. We ordered drinks and pancakes and 3 drinks. The drinks arrived 30 min into the hour it took for pancakes, then the pancakes arrived at 60 min mark. The reason for 4’stars is the disaster of a place was in. No Napkins, plates and tables not cleared. And what seemed to be no system for tables what so ever. I am also taking things off for into Using real maple syrup. Would I come back? Yes in a non peak time I would for sure do it again. If peak times expect a gong show, lf a hour or more it’s not worth the time it takes. I would stay if under 30 min and I could get a drink quickly.

I really liked it here! It was also nice because we went during happy hour and had no idea. Happy hour, $15 for a pancake and a drink. The pancake definitely has a very heavy egg taste to it, but super fluffy and easy to eat! Also tried the hazelnut latte which was also tasty

Place was beautiful, but staff looked so done that the mood of the place was dreary. We went when there was a decent amount of people, but not packed in any way and was told it would be a 25 minute wait or so. We ended up waiting 45 minutes and finished eating within 5 minutes. The pancakes did taste good, but not worth the WAIT and PRICE for the portion. If you're gonna charge that much for pancakes, at least be more efficient in its production.

I heard they opened a Fuwa Fuwa shop in Calgary so I was excited to give it a try. The ambience and decor was modern. It’s a nice place to enjoy dessert. The pancake and drink were just ok. I was expecting the fluffy pancakes to be more soft and fluffy which should melt right in my mouth. But It wasn’t as good as the ones I had in Toronto. It tasted very stuffed because it wasn’t soft enough and the cream was too rich. Hopefully they can do a better job next time I visit again.

Despite a lot of criticism about this place, I was lucky to have a really good experience. I came at 230pm on a Sunday afternoon and there were many seats available. The pancakes we ordered took roughly 15-20 min I didn't keep time but it didn't feel long. The pancake itself lives up to the hype that it rises high and creamy. I got mad at myself for eating the whole thing coz it's "really filling" even though the texture is super light. I recommend to share one if you are a light eater. Overall, well done!

Been three times already, very consistent. The pancakes are made fresh so takes about 15-20 minutes but it's worth it. If looking for grab and go treats there's some roll cakes and cheesecakes as well. I also like the drink selection, my favourite so far is the black sesame latte. Great place to catch up with friends over dessert!

Pancakes are more then worth it, but and hour wait is unjustifiable. Service wasn’t bad but I guess we came at closing hour so they all seemed done with there job. Place is beautiful. Would definitely come back for those beautiful and fluffy pancakes for sure

Fuwa Fuwa is such a cute place with the yummy souffle pancakes! We came in at a time when it wasn't so busy and was seated immediately. The ambiance was nice and customer service was good, for the most part. However, I'm going to be very honest with my review. The cutlery that we got was not clean. At first we thought it was water marks which would have been fine because the cutlery was probably fresh from the dishwasher and wasn't polished. We initially tried to just wipe it off but took a great deal of effort to remove most, not all of it, which lead us to believe it was really grime. I brought this to the employee's attention. All of the cutlery which I personally saw by the tills were like this and he simply laughed it off and didn't offer to clean it or give me new ones or even figure out why they were dirty. Makes me wonder if they even polish them at all? This is something I'm putting in my mouth and restaurants should ensure they have high standards for cleanliness tbh. This is not my second attempt coming into this place. The first was during the holiday. I understand it was incredibly busy so I ignored the fact that we came in and waited awhile and was ignored by the hostess as she went on to talk to the next people in line. We then decided to try another day since the queue was too long and that's okay. But this whole dirty cutlery thing is just next level and I can't ignore it.
