First time visiting this restaurant and it did not disappoint one bit. The food was amazing and both very well prepared and very well plated as well. You can sit inside, but we chose to sit on the outside patio facing 17th Avenue, which can be a noisy because of the traffic, but it is always nice to dine outside in Calgary whenever possible. Our server was very attentive and gave us excellent service. If you are in the mood for authentic Italian cuisine I would definitely recommend you try this restaurant. I would give it quite six star rating if I could.
The food here was so close to perfection, yet didn’t quite reach it with every item that we ordered. For example, the ravioli was delicious, but felt like it could’ve had some sort of vegetable in it. The build your own pasta that I ordered was not flavourful enough for the pesto sauce. The fried mozzarella rice ball could’ve used more sauce for the dish because the rice balls are a tad bland. The cream puff dessert definitely needed to be accompanied with ice cream. So in conclusion, everything had so much potential but fell short by a little bit. Overall, food was still good and decent price.
Went here for the first time with a friend and I was shocked on how amazing the pasta taste so good! Ordered fettuccine chicken Alfredo, the blend of all the flavours just melts in your mouth so perfectly that you won’t stop eating. Downside here is the parking, really hard to find a parking space since it is shared with many more businesses around the area. This place is amazing and I definitely recommend it!
We went here for lunch as we just moved into the neighborhood. Heard a lot of great things. Service: It wasn’t to busy when we went however the service was perfect. No concerns with the staff what so ever. Informative and welcoming. Food: Amazing menu and if you like pasta, which is why you are there, I suggest bring an appetite because the portions are filling and there is so many combinations to choose from. Value: I haven’t seen better value in an Italian restaurant. $15-$18 main courses is difficult to find anywhere now a days. Happy Hour - The happy hour is from 11:00am-4:00pm. Appetizers and drinks are on special. A deadly combination for feeling like you want to take an afternoon nap after a bowl of pasta and a glass of red. We will be returning many times over.
3.5 stars is truly my rating here. The food was good but not amazing. Portion sizes was great for the price which was why I leaned towards 4 stars and not 3. All the dishes were good. It just needs a nudge to be great which was why it was frustrating. It’s just so close.
Great service. The pasta was also of good value for the given price. Would come here again. The venue itself was more of a fast food feeling seating instead of a restaurant as delivery drivers and takeout come through the middle of the location causing footprints and traffic however otherwise it is a great location. A more home like vibe would be nice however I would still give this location a look if you are coming through town.
Price, Value, Quality checked off. I've never had a bad dish, even when we did delivery. Probably one of the better pasta restaurants in Calgary and I challenge anyone to disagree. There is a reason why they are busy and their reviews are so high, doing everything right. Carbonara is my go to 100%. There are very few restaurants where you want to lick the plate clean and...good thing they have toasted bread, save it for last.
I came here on a girls trip, we all agreed pasta is the best but what is the best pasta place in Calgary? We did some research and came across YYC Pasta Bar. First off, the staff are amazing, are waiter was awesome! The food was out if this world, I live 2 and a half hours away and I have since went to Calgary just for this place. I am not a huge chocolate cake fan but the waiter suggested I try theirs and I am so glad I did, it was legit a slice of heaven, tasted like a warm brownie but it was light and melted in your mouth! This place is by far one of my top 5!
First time visiting here and we will definitely be returning! We have struggled to find a pasta place that was actually good and this place is hands down amazing! Delicious filling food and Very good portions and great price! Amazing staff who is wry friendly and quick to come check on you multiple times.
We had read an article about yycpasta bar so being a couple of pasta lovers we decided we needed to give it a try. I will be up front by saying I judge pasta restaurants by the quality and taste of their pesto. So I was glad that it was one of the classic sauces on the menu. Sadly though the sauce looked good it was near impossible to taste pesto in the creamy pesto sauce that was served. The second pasta we tried was the baked lasagna, again the taste was flat, and the meat was dry so it was good to have the extra sauce to add some moisture.
