Great place for a total beginner, they took time to explain everything to me and kept me happy and within budget. Laurent who did my bike fitting was super kind and professional. Great service overall!
Really good bike shop the best selection of clothing around. The staff greet you and are really knowledgeable as they take the time to fully help you. Their advice shows they are cyclists and have used the products.

I couldn’t find a part for my old bike. I emailed them and after a couple of times back and forth with email and pictures, they told me they didn’t have the part… amazingly they told me what name to share on line Not other bike shops told me that. 5 stars because they were an extra mile even I didn’t shop with them. Everything was online.
Great Products, Disappointing ServicenI’ve bought three bikes from this shop and have always been happy with the brands and products they offer. However, my experience with their service department—especially for my high-end bike—has been consistently disappointing. I’m not an expert at bike maintenance, and that’s why I rely on professional service. Unfortunately, I’ve encountered several issues that simply shouldn’t happen at this level.nnIssue 1: Brake and Pad Problems
My bike runs a mix of SRAM Rival and Force components. The brakes and pads are notoriously finicky—a slight misalignment and they need to be readjusted. I used to bring the bike in for service whenever this happened.nRecently, after a repair, the same issue reappeared the very next day during a ride, so I returned to the shop. After the fix, I was told a screw had been stripped and not properly tightened—odd, since it had just been serviced. Screws typically get stripped when overtightened, which shouldn’t happen with professional servicing. See photo: top screw replaced, bottom is original.nnIssue 2: Tubeless Tire Installation
I brought the bike in to have the tires converted to tubeless—a decision I’m glad I made. However, a week later, both tires were flat before a ride. As I added air, both deflated at the same rate. Back at the shop, they found the front valve was leaking. When I asked about the rear, they hadn’t checked, but after I insisted, they confirmed the same issue was present. Both valves were improperly installed from the start.nnIssue 3: Missed Issues During Basic Service
It’s always recommended to bring your bike in for a check at the start of the season, which I did—until this year. Last year, I brought the bike in for basic service and mentioned that one gear kept skipping. They serviced the bike and reported no issues. Three months later, before a trip to France, the same issue #1 reoccurred. While servicing, the technician said the brake pads were overdue for replacement, even though I had barely ridden outdoors and mostly used the trainer. I would have expected this to be caught during the basic service.nAdditionally, they reported my chain was too long. I explained I had replaced it myself, matching the previous chain’s length with photo evidence. Later, I was told the rear derailleur was defective—something missed during the earlier service. Fortunately, SRAM replaced the derailleur under warranty.nnIssue 4: Rear Derailleur Replacement & Communication
While prepping my bike for the season, I removed the chain to wax it and discovered the rear cage had broken on the trainer over winter. I brought the bike to the shop to see if it could be replaced under SRAM’s warranty. SRAM agreed and sent a new derailleur instead of just the cage. The shop needed my chain for adjustments but never called to inform me or request it. They installed a new chain and oiled it I use wax, so I had to clean it again. They claimed to have done the micro-adjustment, but when I installed my own waxed chain, further adjustment was needed. Once I connected the new derailleur to the SRAM app, all settings were at default 15.nnOther Disappointments: Price Match PolicynAnother letdown was their price match policy. I visited another Primeau store and showed them the same shoes available at a lower price from another Canadian retailer. They refused to honor their policy, claiming the price was “too low.” So, they’ll only match if the price is the same?nnSummary:nWhile the shop offers great products and reputable brands, my repeated negative experiences with their service department have been disappointing. One recurring concern is that the staff often appear very young and seem under-trained. Based on my experience, they should not be handling bikes—especially high-end models—without proper training and supervision. This lack of expertise has led to repeated mistakes and oversights that simply shouldn’t happen at a professional bike shop.
