Frieda's Place

HAVE THE BURGERS CHANGED? I used to LOVE Frieda's. I would take friends there and they would LOVE it. Especially the homemade burgers. So good. I was an unofficial ambassador. Now that I live in Waterloo, I go only when I have a Dr's appointment in Cambridge. -- I most recently went March 13, 2018 (take out)-- The burger wasn't right. It was smooth and too perfectly shaped. It didn't taste the same or feel the same in my mouth. Meat grind was super fine and the patty was super compacted. Didn't look or taste hand made at all. I tried bending the patty. It kept in tact and its shape like frozen patty. I gave bites to 2 friends that know & love Frieda's burgers. They too thought the burger was from frozen and not homemade. Don't think I can go back, sad.

Great sized portions. Food is cooked when you order so it's nice and hot when you get it. Love that you can select your own toppings. Go if you are hungry!

First time being here and was kinda disappointed. You bus your own table, the prices were a bit higher than the average across the region and the coffee was awful. The actual meal identical to Country Boy.(maybe same supplier...) Bright side:the staff is lovely. They have a fun banter behind the counter. They know their regulars and it shows.

Frieda's, are you using frozen meat now? Something has changed about your meat. Was quite disappointed with the taste and quality of one of your burgers I ate last week. My visit prior to this was last summer. I have seen another recent review on here from a loyal customer who has questioned your business on changing the meat as well. I can't say I'll be back again to take the risk.

My Dad and I pulled off the highway and parked in the lot outside Freida’s after getting a flat tire. Watching my Dad change the tire in the cold, someone who works here ran out with a coffee for him and even offered me one - so thoughtful and sweet! Not many places would do something this nice for no reason at all - it made a bad day much better, thank you!!!:)
