5/5 Fresh on Danforth is the Big Carrot's newest neighbour. The menu contains a great option of starters, salad bowls, protein-packed salads and a nice variety of alcohol offerings. An overall wonderful place to gather for filling and healthy meals, lots of seating available by the patio or in the restaurant, with a takeout bar. Heavy cottage core aesthetic in this space, super cute place for a date or a wholesome meal with friends.
Came in for a late night coffee and dessert and the experience was lovely! Absolutely rustic and cute green interior decor. The golden latte was delicious and full of healthy goodies! We also had a slice of the chocolate cake which was nice and dense
I’m so happy to have Fresh in the neighbourhood. The patio is on a quiet side street and the restaurant itself is really nicely done. I had the quinoa onion rings and squash tacos and both were amazing. P.S. If you go for brunch, the almond butter French toast is so good.
Save yourself time and money, and visit a real healthy restaurant. This is the only review for this place you will ever Food: Very mediocre in taste, looks, and portion. Surely you will be hungry in the next hour. Service: Vastly disappointing with miserable servers with dirty clothes and unpleasant personal hygiene. The people working there look so unhappy. Atmosphere: Probably the most weird atmosphere I sensed in a restaurant in the last few years. I received multiple uncomfortable starring looks and smiles, although I was with my partner. Harassment-level stuff. So in appropriate. I heard the rumor but I didn't believe it until I saw it.
For brunch, I recommend having the “salad for breakfast”. It’s truly the most nutritious and delicious meal on the menu. None of the other brunch options are particularly amazing. The French toast is really filling and has a LOT of almond butter - feels more like a dessert. The buffalo cauliflower is a good option but could be more crispy. The squash tacos and nachos are both average. The breakfast burrito is alright but not as good as the salad for breakfast. Service is friendly and fast!
Fresh is the latest craze on the Danforth, always seemingly packed especially the patio when I walk by. Good for them - given times like these, it's good to see some places have successful openings. Dropped by for lunch to see what the fuss was about for this vegan restaurant and got: - Cobb Salad: Pretty good size for the price. They had tasty "bacon" and "chicken" and a whole lot of veggies as expected. Best with the 369 dressing, which is a sweet and savoury blend of tahini, maple and lemon. - BBQ Burger and Dragon Fries: I went with their housemade grain burger over substituting it for a beyond meat patty. It was ok, a bit on the thin side but filling. There was so much bbq sauce though on the burger which drowned the taste out a bit. The quinoa onion rings were a tad hard but tasty. The rest of the burger was fine. The side dragon fries were basically standard fries with banana chilies, scallions and a cheese dip at the bottom. Would have loved a bit more cheese, but these were really tasty and elevated a standard side. - Quinoa Onion Rings: Standout dish of the meal. As a side order versus topping on the burger, the rings were huge, tasted a bit sweeter, and the quinoa coating was perfect not overly batter-y, interesting texture. I'd come back to Fresh just for this. Place has a nice clean vibe, and patio is always full for a reason. Table service was great - attentive, great suggestions, pleasant. Service to get a table was a bit weird. We told the person upfront that we wanted to sit inside patio was full and we saw many tables inside free. She told us to wait 5 minutes ended up being 10-15 and eventually sat us in one of the tables that was already free when we got there. Not sure if they're trying to manage the kitchen/cooking load, but that was a bit strange. Anyway, I can see why Fresh is a hit. It's tasty and in these times reasonably priced for what you get. I'm not an expert on vegan food but think this place is definitely worth a try.
I came here for a bachelorette and the server went out of her way to make the event special. I got a pizza, which was bigger then I expected but very good. Photo attached of one the starters that was great : spend below is for a group of 8
Had a great time at Fresh the other week! Lots of gluten-free options, as they have a whole gf menu. My heart is so happy Fresh is in the neighbourhood, as is my appetite. My wallet, a wee scared
Such a lovely first experience here! Our server was delightful and so kind. The food was absolutely delicious and the atmosphere of the restaurant itself is cute and inviting. This is already our new favourite spot!
Though the decor and design of the cafe itself was very nice and comfortable. The "beach" rice bowl I had for my meal was oily and flavourless. Perhaps that was the reason why our server asked if I wanted hot sauce.Food: 2/5
