Frederic Remington Art Museum

If you are interested in the art works of Frederic Remington, this is the place to see! The artist has a history living here in the North Country even though he is thought of for his works of art depicting the "Wild West" of the later half 1800's. Of note, at the White House Oval Office in Washington DC is a bronze work of art by Frederic Remington. The museum has a great selection of Remington art and good history of Frederic and his family. Frederic's father, when living in Canton, New York, fought for the Union during the Civil War. Recommend not bringing young children here and be aware that there is an entrance fee.

Much more interesting than I thought it would be! Staff very knowledgeable. Some really awesome paintings. Originals, they show depth and dimension. Not really for kids, they would get bored. Beautiful old home and interesting story about it.

Nice museum with knowledgeable staff. Perfect size for a deep dive into Frederic Remington that won't leave you exhausted.
