Cannot express how little I would recommend this group. They lost my requests, ignored my emails, and conveniently lost all records of my account when I needed to transfer them to my new insurance broker... Only to contact me the next day to ask if I wanted to renew with them instead You get what you pay for in insurance but this office is by far the worst I have ever experienced - I recommend avoiding it at all costs.
I had the worst insurance experience with this company. I contacted them and dealt with Peter Aalders, one of their insurance brokers. After a lengthy process of providing all relevant information, Peter provided me with a quote of 1895 for auto insurance. Based on the quote I decided to proceed and was sent the application which was signed off stating my yearly premium would be 1895. After I had made the first payment and my policy had been initiated I asked if my policy documents could be sent to me electronically. I was told that I would receive my policy documents in the mail. After 4 weeks my policy hadn't arrived in the mail so I followed up with an email. A further 3 weeks passed and there was still no sign of my policy documents in the mail. From this point I made an attempt to download the Huetis app, entered my information and was able to see that I could access my policy information there. Why was I told that I would only receive my policy in the mail if I could have been directed to access it online? Here's where it gets ridiculous.. instead of the 1895 i had signed up for my premium was stated at 2872.77 on the policy!! What is the point of signing an application or providing a quote if this has no bearing on what is charged? There was not one bit of correspondence to indicate there was a premium change to the application. No communication or explanation to inform me. I was left in the dark waiting for my policy documents in the mail only to find that the price I had signed off on the application was not what they intended to charge me. I followed up with Peter and was told that this new price of 2872.77 was the 'correct premium'. Shouldn't the correct premium be what you are quoted and the amount listed on the application you sign? After receiving an overcharge on my monthly premium i requested cancellation of the policy and was informed that I would receive a refund estimated at 250 sent as a cheque in the mail. I waited four weeks and received a cheque in the mail for a refund of 90.44. I emailed Peter to follow up on this discrepancy and he has yet to respond. One of the most unprofessional encounters I have had anywhere. None of the information Peter provided with regards to the quoted price, how I could receive my policy documents or my refund amount turned out to be reliable. The whole experience felt deceitful and it was a complete waste of time and money. I have subsequently opened a policy with another company and the experience is night and day. Save yourself the headache people!!
Been with them for 4 years now. my insurance has increased 40% with no reasoning. made countless mistakes on billing/over billing. Has spent no time shopping for new and better prices. This company is by far one of the most difficult to communicate with. They are rude very condescending. They treat you like you are invaluable and annoying. Almost never return calls, or answer their phone. Good Luck.
I have been using Founders Insurance and before them Dalrymple Insurance since the '70's and have never had a problem. They have seen me through a stolen vehicle, car accidents, home flooding, stolen and lost items, etc. with no issues, no problems or unnecessary delays. Always professional and ready to assist.
Not impressed with their lack of professionalism . Been a customer for more than 5 years . requests for a call was left unanswered . I had to initiate a call after numerous messages left. They are unable or unwilling to shop for the best price for their clients. My insurance went up , substantially 2 years in a row. Even without claim. Not happy . Will be shopping for a new more efficient professional broker.
I can't give ZERO STARS or I would. I do not recommend doing business with this particular company. I have had the worst experience doing business with this company. My credit card information had been left with them in order to make further payment as well as notification that email was the only reliable form of contact as I spend lengthy periods outside of the province. Double charged for the administration fee upon opening my policy and when it came time to renew the policy there was no email communication attempt made nor payment I had pre-authorized coming from my credit card. As a result, my policy was cancelled and a small sum went to collections who managed to contact me via email. Clerical errors riddled my file I learned upon investigation as to why my policy had cancelled. Misspelled email not that it mattered, no credit card on file. Follow up with the agent it was told to me that contact via email is above and beyond their responsibilities and that the onus was on me to manage my own file. They offered to open a new policy with a new administration fee. Refused to take responsibility or wave the second admin fee. Absolutely terrible business. Look elsewhere
Horrible experience with this company. Had multiple issues. Raises prices without communicating with the customer. Staff often make mistakes and need to spend more time being knowledgeable. Example I was told I was getting a refund cheque sent back to me by Derek and a year later I still haven't received the cheque. Spoke with the Manager Peter and he said Derek made a mistake and that's that. Poor way to do business . I advise to look elsewhere for insurance it will save you headaches
by far the best insurance group in town , they offer military discount , have the best rates by far and are amazing when it comes to personalized customer service. I don't even shop around anymore , I literally call my broker, give him a vin , and thats it , he emails me pink slips same day . Derek is my broker , he's young but extremely attentive to detail and handles my 5 vehicles , home , boat and auto insurance with ease.
I use Founders Insurance for my motorcycle policy. They were quick to respond for a quote and the price was significantly better than my previous insurer. Great customer service!
