My last visit to Fort Machinaw the wife and I had a blast. The view from the top was a sight to behold. It's truly is remarkable that this place is very well preserved for its age. It's definitely a location I plan to visit again in the future.
A very neat sight to see. The fort does not take long to see it all. But the sight is out of this world. In addition, they have live firing of the rifle and cannon which is awsome for the kids. Overall a fun experience. Only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is the high ticket prices.
Really cool demonstrations and lots to look at indoors and out. Very well preserved and gorgeous views of the water, village and other surroundings. Wish I had realized that they have a tea and tap room - we would have gone there instead of waiting so long for a seat in town!
Loads to do, fun historic tour, resteraunts were delicious and people were friendly. In autumn it was beautiful. I would definitely come back and bring friends
Great place for a fall visit. Although still crowded, we enjoyed a beautiful cool fall day with a short bike ride around the island and up the hill to arch rock and old cemetery. Enjoyed the fort and Grand Hotel tours and of course some creamy fudge.
Very fun, there were a lot of people though, but that's just Mac island for you. It was very informative and fun. There are bayonet firing and cannon firing displays as well so its fun for the kids to see the soldiers dressed up and fire the weapons. Overall a fun experience! Also, the view of the island is fantastic!
